Late Night Drinks

Trompe Loeil’s first release of the year is the Dragon & Orchid Home Pub for FaMESHed. It comes in a PG and an Adult version (no, the difference isn’t that the PG version only serves soda) and as usual I went with the latter. And then I had the idea of using the Ice Queen’s Coat from Junbug and, well, very little else…

Winter Whites

Today is generally the year’s laziest (or possibly second laziest after January 1st) day for me. There’s nothing more that has to get finished in time for Christmas (we celebrate on the 24th in Sweden) and there’s lots of yummy leftovers. So its all about curling up with a book and puttering about with things like wintry photos in Second Life.

Lady Mistletoe

There’s a veritable cornucopia of events going on right now and I have already been treating myself to quite a few early Christmas presents. For example,Junbug’s new release for Genre’s Victorian round, Lady Mistletoe. I really like metallic detailing on this gown, it makes it very festive, though I do have to point out that the red can come out quite different with materials enabled (as in these photos) compared to when not; it all comes down to the light settings used. My favourite part of this ensemble, however, may be that it actually consists of a corset with an add-on skirt, which is a nice way of adding some flexibility into how you can wear your mesh.

I couldn’t quite get out of the lovely Snow Queen skin from Jalwa just yet, so I added brows of a different colour (browless skins are so handy) and a lip tint to make it look a little less frosty and more suited for the gorgeous Thetis gown from Senzafine, another We Love Role-Play release. I thought it went really well together with the stunning Artifact set from Eclectica at the Jewelery and Accessories Expo.

Pale Huntress

Life has continued to be more hectic than I would prefer (especially in December!), but I have at least managed a bit of reading lately. One of the books was an ARC of Mark Smylie’s The Barrow, which is quite the old-fashioned Sword & Sorcery adventure. It was just the inspiration I needed to create a look from a couple of the new releases for this round of We Love Role-Play: Jalwa’s Snow Queen skin and ieQED’s antler pauldrons.

A Playful Fantasy

It is We Love Role-Play time again. This time, my fantasy is more adult than elven, as the Versailles shoes from lassitude & ennui and the Portia jewellery from Sax Shepherd Designs inspired a lush boudoir look.

Golden Autumn

I have not blogged in quite a while for various RL reasons, none of them too fun unfortunately. However, I have had a bit of energy returning at least and doing something creative seemed like a good idea. So, I dug out a few things from the current (but soon to be over) round of We Love Role-Play; the Sultana dress from Apsara, the bracers from GSpot’s Dyonysos Bride and the earrings from Bliensen+MaiTai.

If you just can’t wait until noon tomorrow for Enchantment, then hurry up and join the Enchantment Update Group and you will get early access to the sim at midnight tonight. I’ll be finishing up my pre-opening coverage with a not entirely SFW Snow White. Don’t miss the closer look at ellabella’s gorgeous jewellery set in the next picture.

The Raven Queen

Enchantment opens in two days, on November 1st. Not only will you be able to buy exclusive releases inspired by Snow White, but you can also enjoy the scenery on a wintry island with a tall castle just next to the shopping area. Just be careful if you venture there, since you never know when the Raven Queen will be at home.

Prepare to Be Enchanted

Events are still going strong in Second Life and personally I think that there is a strong appeal to “themed” shopping. I certainly enjoy it quite a bit myself, especially when the theme is something that appeals to me. The latest event to hit just the right mark for me is Enchantment. This event is inspired by fairy tales and it will run on a three-month cycle, which I think is a good idea now that there are so many monthly events. Additionally, all items sold at the event will be exclusives, available only at the event and then never again once that round has closed.

The first round will start on November 1st and it draws its inspiration from Snow White. I have had the opportunity to attend the blogger preview and I think you will find that there are quite a few things on offer that you won’t want to miss out on.

A Dark Web

Its late October, so of course there’s a Horrorfest in Second Life. From there comes this sleek and sexy gown from Senzafine, which I’ve paired with the lovely Krysis jewellery from the Plastik. Its available at another event, the Body Modification Expo.

Steampunk Elegance

It is time for another round of Genre, this time with Steampunk in the focus. My immediate must-have item was this lovely Ada gown from Senzafine. It is available both with a black base and a brown base and I was sorely tempted by both. In the end, the Noir/Crimson version won out since it felt so lovely and gothic and just right for October. Once again, I am quite impressed by the lush and detailed texturing from Senzafine and I love the little red accents against the black.

The lovely Foxxe eye makeup is one of the Plastik’s releases for the Body Modification Expo. I think it really transforms the eye area of my Siobhan skin from Adam n Eve, creating a very different look.

Plastik Elegance

A little less writing with this entry than usual, as my right arm is objecting a touch after doing a bit of sweeping in the yard. But I think the pictures of the elegant Morgana gown from the Plastik do a fine job of speaking for themselves.

Pirate Penny

Long mesh hair is finally getting a bit more curl and bounce and Calico Ingmann of Calico is one designer who is exploring these possibilities. I’ve paired her latest style, Penny, with the Bard top from the Muses for We Love Role-Play.

Winter Woods

The new round of We Love Role-Play has opened and as usual there’s a wide and varied selection. I decided to get some more photo-mileage out of my newly purchased Enchanted Woods from Studio Skye, especially as the Nephilaine gown from Senzafine definitely called for a wintery setting. I am also wearing the Clara hair from Calico and Nahimana’s Autumn Necklace and Earrings from ellabella.
