Late Night Drinks

Trompe Loeil’s first release of the year is the Dragon & Orchid Home Pub for FaMESHed. It comes in a PG and an Adult version (no, the difference isn’t that the PG version only serves soda) and as usual I went with the latter. And then I had the idea of using the Ice Queen’s Coat from Junbug and, well, very little else…

But lets start with the Christmas tree in the background; it may be time to take those down in RL now, but I took a break from just everything but reading and relaxing over the holidays, so I did not have a chance to feature it until now. The tree is a collaboration between Pixel Mode and Convair, the latter which marks the return of Tobias Convair (formerly half of HANDverk) to Second Life. What’s unusual about this tree is that it isn’t all in one piece but instead you get to rez out the tree, the stand and the decorations separately and set it up as you please. It takes more time, but it definitely makes it more personal.

The pub comes in three wood colours—I picked the redwood—and with options for setting up different colours and patterns for the decorations. It is similar to the tree in one regard: you rez the pub itself as one piece, but then you add the glasses, bottles and chairs on your own. Both the pub and the chairs come with poses; the PG ones are all singles whereas the Adult ones are couple poses. There is also an option for dispensing several different beer bottles to use with the drinking poses.

Of course, some of the single poses are pretty saucy on their own. The coat, as noted, is the sumptuous Ice Queen’s Coat from Junbug, here in the Silver colour. I love the richness of the texture, it really looks soft and touchable. My skin is the sultry and sexy Marnie from Adam n Eve and my hair is a recent release from Wasabi Pills called Casey. I also have on the Miranda Glitter Pumps (for the Slink medium high feet) from Alice Project.

Of course, what is a home bar without some handsome male company? I persuaded Ran to do a bit shopping at Zaara—her classic suit in grey is one of the first modern mesh outfits to really catch his attention—and to wear some of my favourite pieces with it, namely hair 48 from Dura and the gorgeous Prince skin from the Skin Shop.

So when you don’t feel like going out for a drink, why not have that cosy country pub feeling right in your home? This is an unusual and creative piece of furnishing, with all the attention to detail that Cory Edo always provides. The modelling and texturing is excellent, the poses for the most part well chosen, though I found some of the adult animations a little awkward. Then again, getting naughty in (and on) a pub is perhaps a little awkward to start with. ;)
