Otherworldly

A Rustic(a) Valentine

I’ve already shown the mesh drapery from Maxwell Graf of Rustica in a previous post, but they most definitely deserve more of a spotlight feature as well. They are lush, versatile and just the thing for changing the feel of a slightly cold and empty room to make it seem more cosy and intimate.

Also shown in these photos is the special Valentine edition of Claire from Tuli, the new Timea ankle boots from lassitude & ennui and the newest hair from Wasabi Pills.

This time I used the sheer lace drapes and tinted them pink to match the lipstick on the skin. Wouldn’t that look great if you’re planning to decorate your home for a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day?

This setup also uses the top swags, tinted a dark grey/almost black, and the curtain rods with the heart finishes. There’s a total of 22 pieces in the set, so you will be able to adapt it for a number of different looks. As I mentioned the first time I posted about the set, you also get the shadow maps for both the drapery and the rods, allowing you to create your own textures and not just tint the existing ones. However, the tinting takes you quite far.

The lovely Valentine’s edition of Claire is available as part of he Cupcakes sim special Valentine’s event. Each purchase comes with three versions of the skin (called “Yes”, “No” and “Maybe”)  to suit your mood as well as a tattoo layer for a “puckered” look. It is only available until the 15th.

The Alicia hair from Wasabi Pills, here in Cinnamon, is a flattering style with a bit of a retro feel which I thought suited Claire’s face really well. The rigging is, as always, very well done.

The Timea ankle boots come with a choice between gold and silver embroidery and with that fairly high heel they would look lovely with a variety of gowns, not just lingerie as here. The lingerie, btw, is from Nomine; there’s quite a treasure of sets available in the store, though it may not be the first place you think of when you go lingerie shopping. But it should be up there! The pearl necklace is of course also from lassitude & ennui.

It isn’t just the drapery that is from Rustica in these shots, btw. The house itself is the large and rustic Carriageway House, which holds up very well even though it isn’t mesh, and the cuddle chaise is part of Maxwell’s set of empire-style mesh furniture.
