A Candle in the Dark

The December round of We Love Role-Play stays up during January as well, so if you failed to shop with all the holiday preparations going on (or if you spent most of the month sick, like me), you still have the chance to visit.

Among the items available are this medieval kirtle from the Annex and a lovely mature skin by Poema which I think looks stunning on LeLutka’s Lake head and with steel-grey hair.

The walking candle is by Candle & Cauldron for Winter’s Hollow and comes in brass, copper, iron and silver and also includes decor versions. The candle is also ready for use with a PBR viewer, but that is not what I am using here.

Welcome to Winter’s Hollow

Winter’s Hollow, by Dark Passions Events, welcomes you to explore creations inspired by the cold and dark days of winter. The event is open from January 6th to January 20th and I will be giving you a few looks at what’s on offer along the way.

First out, we have a cosy wool dress with a fur collar from Paper Moon, a rustic creation in natural fibre hues. Something to curl up in front of the fireplace in, perhaps paired with some cosy tights.  A contrast against the rustic feel of the wool is provided by the jewelry set by Sigma, a heart-shaped pendant with a skull motif and matching earrings. A lovely memento mori with texture (and tinting) options for chain, setting and stone.

The final item from Winter’s Hollow is the Winter Bridge from Tirrany Designs, with elegant ironwork and four lights to brighten the night.

My hair is by Wasabi and to keep with the winter theme I used the option to have white streaks at the front of the hair. The style optionally incorporates a single braid but can also be worn without it.

Winter Music

Time to start a happy new blogging year off and what better way than with some classy kink? The Grand Piano from Dictatorshop’s Louis Collection is a beautiful piece of baroque craftsmanship, a fantastic centerpiece for a luxurious home. In the PG version, you have over 120 animations suited for any audience, but of course it doesn’t stop there. The Adult Vanilla version offers 226 animations and the Adult Kink over 400. I have explored the menus of the latter and there is indeed plenty to play with. You will see a small selection in the images below, just a little teaser for what is available.

The Grand Piano also offers customisation of its appearance, with 7 wood and 12 fabric options. I love the look of the silvered wood combined with black accents; it gave a very wintry feeling. And, of course, there are several more matching pieces in the Louis Collection, should you wish to furnish your home further. You can learn more about the Grand Piano here.

And speaking of a wintry feeling, how about the naughty little snowflake outfit I am wearing? This is a collaboration between Petrichor & Ersch for Kinky in December and I love the textures and materials on it.  My hair is a new release from Wasabi through the Truth Collective, a cute style where two braids end in long pigtails, one on either side.

Finally, we have Ran wearing the elegant Coronation outfit from Toksik, which I thought fit in nicely with the baroque piano.

Kitten

This will be short and sweet because I’ve been knocked out by a cold/flu/whatever and my brain is rather mushy. But We Love Role-Play is still on for a few more days (until the 28th) and there you can pick up the elegant Gravitas service chair by Dictatorshop. It includes both femdom and maledom animations, but since my partner has been struck by the same illness we were not quite in the mood to explore it any further. ;) I do love the look of this chair, however, and could see placing it in both modern and role-play settings.

My barely-there outfit is by Petrichor & Ersch for the November round of Kinky. The asymmetry really makes this design pop.

Finally, we have the hair which is a brand new Wasabi release for the Fifty called Kitten. Sleek and versatile, it can be worn four different ways and with or without hair clips.

Alone at the Inn

For the independent adventuress, the Flor outfit and matching boots from Sweet Kajira are a perfect choice. Perhaps she is a pirate or a mercenary, but either way she is the kind of woman who can visit an inn on her own, certain that she can handle any trouble that comes her way. The textures on this set are really nice and the fatpack HUD offers a wide range of mixing and matching options. You’ll find it at We Love Role-Play for a few days more!

The gorgeous curly hairstyle is by Truth and is aptly named Bounce, of which it has plenty. My skin here is Otrera by Nar Mattaru in Olive, one of my favourites, and the shape an in-progress work for Zora and Legacy.

The build is one of the Medici townhouses by Del-ka Aedilis and I liked the idea of trying something different with this one, so I set it up as an inn. It has a large room on the first floor and a large room on the second floor, so that could serve as a common room and a sleeping loft.

Snow Witch

Its early to hope for snow, but I am starting to long a bit for it, especially the way it brightens the dark november nights. Fortunately, I can get a little taste of it in Second Life. For this round of We Love Role-Play, Konoha has a beautiful orangerie available and it comes in two versions; with and without snow. I took the snowy version and set it amidst a snowy landscape. For a dash of colour, I choose the Matilda dress from Rakshasa and used the HUD to select a black and red combination. This versatile dress (with its matching hat) can be worn with long or short sleeves and with a long or short skirt. It certainly has a witchy feel to it with the hat, but less so without it, making it versatile in that regards as well. The white heels that you see peeking out beneath the hem in the first shot are from Sass, a nice low-heeled shoe option.

Finally we have the hair from the Truth Collective (Truth & Wasabi), a very charming double pony-tail called Pudding which is out at Access. It is very sleek on top so worked perfectly with the hat.

Cooking Something Special

When preparing dinner, it is important to use the right mushrooms. Of course, what the right mushroom is depends on the goal of the dinner. With Static’s Mushroomery prop for We Love Role-Play you can identify a few suitable candidates if your meal involves murder. The book (which comes with a HUD for changing the leather and metal textures) is meant to held in either the right or left hand as seen in the first photos, but I also wanted to do a close-up and for that I placed it on the mantlepiece of the fireplace from Cabal. The pot heating up over the fire, the kite shield resting against the wall and the drinking horn converted into a candle are also from Cabal and all for We Love Role-Play.

The same is true for the beautiful Frigg gown from Enfant Terrible. Inspired by dress of Norse women during the Viking age, Frigg is the gown of a woman of some means, with finespun wool and linen adorned by the typical brooches (here joined by beaded strands) and a metal girdle. In the fatpack, the HUD allows mixing and matching between different dress and overdress colors and also includes options for the metals and beads. Not worn here is a fur shoulder piece and a crown of oak wreathes that are also part of the Frigg outfit.

Also new but for Anthem is Wren, a versatile double pigtail hairstyle from Wasabi. It includes style options for the bangs and texture options for the hairties.

Temple Priestess

Sunset over a beautiful temple and an ancient olive grove by the sea, and a priestess is bringing a tray of offerings. What you see in these images are just a few of things that will be available when the November round of We Love Role-Play opens tomorrow, offering new releases at discounts of between 15% and 30%.

Autumn Abode

Out now at FaMESHed is the Waterland House from Dutchie, a 17th century wooden residence with an L-shaped and open floor plan. Based on the kind of architecture that the Dutch village of Broek in Waterland is known for, this house was originally a combined store and residence. This remodelled version has taken out the wall between the front and the back of the house, leaving it open and airy. Even so, there is a private room suitable as a bedroom or office on the ground floor. Additionally, there is an open attic, accessed via a beautiful iron spiral staircase (walkable and also with click to teleport), with plenty of space. A wooden house like this can be used in a variety of scenarios and suits many different furnishing styles. It has a footprint of about 17 by 17 meters and a land impact of 103 prims.

Roman Flower

You still have a few days until October 30th and the last day of the current Redeux round, which features (among other things) the Villa Equites from Del-ka Aedilis. A part of the Rome Series, it is an elegant villa with a garden, such as might be owned by one of the Equites. They were a wealthy social class but not as high ranking as the patricians. The villa features a first floor with the atrium and garden and additional rooms, as well as a partial upper floor overlooking the garden and with an attached balcony. There, I placed the banquet triclinium from the Civitas series and did a shot from a set of dancing poses by Nantra and one on the couch.

The outfit is not very Roman! But it is quite sexy, this collaboration between Petrichor & Ersch. There’s a bit of a kimono-feel to it with the wrap and the bow, but of course made a lot more revealing. As usual, you get tons of options for colors and you can choose to hide certain parts.  You also have three different skirt options.

Dancing Mustangs

You still have a few more days to visit the Dog & Pony Show before it closes on the 23rd of October, so make sure you don’t miss out! There are still events left as well, including the eagerly awaited Live Auction on the 21st with many OOAK coats up for grabs.

This may be my final post for this year’s event and for that I am heading off into the mountains to show some Campion Mustangs in their natural habitat. Campion Mustangs, you say? Well, within the Teegle community on Second Life there are a few roleplaying games centered around fictional breeds. Some are more fantastical and are found in fictional worlds, others are intended as fictional breeds found in our own world. They use Teeglepets as the base but with the help of deformers and mesh add-ons they achieve unique looks.

Kitchen Helpers

We Love Role-Play meets the Dog & Pony Showin today’s post, featuring poses from Aelithe, a lovely new dress from Rakshasa (with bonus vegetable basket from Neon Sheep), a kitchen work table from RiG! and some hopeful dogs from Teegle: the original size of the mutt (now a limited edition), the resized mutt and of course the adorable puppy. Also new is the hairstyle, a Truth Collective release from Truth and Wasabi. I love those two thick braids! It also comes with an optional hat decorated with an Ankh, quite suitable for Halloween, but here I am wearing the headscarf included with the dress.

Our own RL dogs, a pair of boxers, would definitely agree with this bunch that the kitchen is the best place in the house, even if the bed (not their bed) comes a close second. I think that their ideal would be a bed IN the kitchen. ;)

My Not So Little Pony

It would not be the Dog & Pony Show without new releases from Teegle and this year they’ve got a massive lineup of news: two new horses, three new dogs, resized versions of the first three dogs released and also dog collars and leashes. And that is not even all, there’s more to come in a few days!

The new horses are a “Jewel” the Percheron and “Spice” the draft foal. The Percheron is a draft breed from France which descends from the medieval warhorses. It is not generally as tall as Belgians or Clydesdales, but it is quite solidly built while still being agile. In France, only black and grey Percherons can be registered, but the US registry allows additional colours. The default coat for the Teegle Percheron is a beautiful grey, but I have some new coats from the Dog & Pony Show to share with you as well so I applied the lovely dappled Poe coat from Royal’s Customs. As you can see, it includes some very nice materials as well. Royal’s Customs has several more gorgeous coats at the event.

Dryad Queen

The new dark and delicious Dryad skin from Fallen Gods for We Love Role-Play is called “Blackwood” and it seemed to me that such a dryad would make her (or his, the skin is available for both genders) home in the deepest parts of the woods. The Fall Court Circlet from Kreep, with its pale mushrooms, felt like just the right crown for the queen among such dryads. And her throne? Those twisted brambles from Lore again, here placed in a dark forest tarn. I also went for some shopping at the Halloween Shop & Hop and came away with an appropriate set of swamp trees from Fundati’s Ultimate Swamp Setto add to the feeling of a ancient forest.

Demonic Drive

The demonic steed, eyes glowing, raced along the narrow gorge, past thick, thorny brambles that seemed to reach for both it and the carriage that it pulled. Suddenly, it reared up, neighing shrilly, as it found the path blocked by a massive tangle of brambles.

Seydr and En Pointe welcome you aboard a collaboration truly fit for the spookiest of all months.  The Midnight Ride carriage, available at the Engine Room, and the matching Midnight Rider harness from the Dog & Pony Show, will let you hitch up a Teeglepet and go for a wild ride. Add in the Theia Eye System from Seydr to make your steed look demonic enough for the role and pick up a suitable coat, such as the Draconic from Nocturne Skies, and your wild ride will be ready.
