Dark Queen

October is upon us and Second Life is filling up with all things spooky. From the trio of witches in my earlier post, the time has now come for a dark queen. After winning a skin from one of the gachas from Fallen Gods at the Halloween Shop & Hop, I was inspired to give the annual Fallen God & Goddess contest a try. In my caves from Fanatik, I installed the Evil Throne from Kalopsia, and I dressed myself in the latest release from Senzafine for We Love Role-Play, a seductive piece perfect for a queen of necromancy.

A Redeux Enchantment

I have been buried under work the last week and I still haven’t dug myself out fully, but I have so many pretty things to share that I did have to make room for some Second Life as well. Both Enchantment and Redeux are going on right now (and Redeux has been extended to August 24th!) so I made a medieval mash-up of items from both events and created a small town and a somewhat overgrown village green (the sheep have not been doing their job lately) with an old well. Then I popped over to We Love Role-Play and found myself a new dress from Senzafine as well.

Fantasy Faire 2020 - A Farewell

Today is the final day of Fantasy Faire for this year, the final hours before the Fairelands disappear into the mists once more. But, they always return, in one form or another. For my final post, I thought it was fitting to commemorate this by incorporating some items from previous Fantasy Faires together with some key pieces from this year.

Fantasy Faire 2020 - A Secret Rendezvous

Somewhere deep in the woods stands a tall tower, where a man wearing a mask has arranged for a secret meeting with a lady. Who is the man who will not reveal his face? And why has the lady agreed to meet with him in such a secluded location? Is there a scandal in the making, perhaps? Or does he know some dark secret that he is using to blackmail her with?

The Knight and the Lady

I am back with more from Hullabazoo, because of course I wanted to cover Teegle’s new release as well—a fantastic set of jousting tack for each of the Teeglepet breeds except for the American Paint and the Shetland Pony. A perfect opportunity for Ran to dress up in his fantastic armour from Silhouette Warfare and setup a gorgeous fantasy scene of a knight meeting his lady.

Behave

La vie en pose, the naughty edition, is now open. Infiniti is taking part with a set of single poses and a couple pose using a riding crop, and this time I elected to focus on the couple pose. It is called Behave and I love the dynamic it creates between the characters—just who is in charge here?

For the outfits as well as the decor, both Ran and I dug into our inventories. Ran is wearing Stitched and I am wearing Roawenwood, whereas the decor is a mix of Roawenwood and Senzafine.

The Love Potion

La vie en pose is now open, so hurry up and check it out before the 25th of October. The event offers poses, props and backdrops and for this round you’ll see quite a few pumpkins and witches. The set I am showing today is one of the latter, a cute prop/backdrop set from Secret Poses with eight bento-enabled poses that include a bottle of love potion.

A Royal Gift

The Ark (which closes today, so hurry up and visit!) is a new event focused on pets, animals and related items. I had been looking forward to it since it was announced, but I must admit that I was somewhat disappointed in the first round as it seemed like too many items that you could have found at just any other event. However, there were definitely some really good things on offer too, with one of the top picks being the latest Teeglepet horse from Teegle—the Friesian. Since I’ve collected all the previous ones, of course I had to get this one too.

In this post, I am also showcasing a bridle for the Friesian by Mythril, decor and clothing from The Looking Glass and Roped Passions for the Spoonful of Sugar Festival and a new dress from Senzafine for We Love Role-Play.

Enchanted Niamh

Having a vacation just around the corner should be nice, but it always manages to make me all stressed out and of course totally locked up creatively. I like going places, I just don’t like the preparations. I am already preoccupied with what I need to pack, and we’re going next Wednesday!

Anyway, after a bit of teleporting around between various builds on the sim, this simple setup struck me as a fine way of showing off this beautifully textured gown from Senzafine. I really like the colours that Synjari has done for this release, they are very vibrant and a bit unusual. There are six colours in total and five sizes and you will find the gown at Midsummer Enchantment until June 30th.

The long, lovely braid I picked up at Magika’s 50% refund sale. Alas, it ended yesterday, but Magika’s regular prices are so good that its certainly worth getting it anyway.

My Little Animesh Pony

Animesh has been on the grid for some months now, though only more widely adopted since it was added to the Firestorm Viewer more recently. A search through the Marketplace shows a growing selection of animesh objects. But the one I had been waiting for only came out yesterday, namely the first two horse breeds from the new Teeglepet range from Teegle. You may recall that I reviewed the Teegle Bento Horse Avatar when it came out over two years ago. I love the way it moves and the modelling of the different horse breeds, so I was very eager to try out the Teeglepet. As soon it was out on Friday, I hurried off to buy Maestro the Hanoverian and Sugar Cookie the American Paint Horse. To learn more, watch the video! Credits and some more discussion, including a brief comparison between the Bento Avatar and the Animesh Horse, at the end of this post.

Elven Enchantment

There is a new round of Enchantment and this time it takes its inspiration from Lord of the Rings and the designers offer everything from orc-inspired skins to robes fit for an elven king. I am showing you a beautifully textured dress from Senzafine and a set of chairs from Roawenwood with clear elven inspiration in the elegant lines. Additionally, I am wearing another piece from the current round of Redeux (remember, that one is only open for a week!), an intricate necklace from On a Lark. Finally, the hair is Cayden from Wasabi, released as a male style but as you can see it works fine for a female avatar as well provided that you don’t have too large a chest (there’s only two size options for the chest).

Incantation

I felt like it was time for a touch of magic, so I donned the Obscuritas crown from lassitude & ennui on top of my Inoko hair from Wasabi and conjured up some magical auras with a bit of help from the Dreaming Thicket. I performed my incantations in the gothic Rhordyn Towertop Skybox from Trompe Loeil, which offers a vast, cathedral-like space with huge windows at either end. Along the sides, there are stone alcoves that can be used if something less expensive is desired.

By the River

I had thought of doing something more New Year’s inspired, but then I went shopping at Fanatik yesterday as they announced a big sale and ended up stuck doing some landscaping around one of my castles instead. That also seemed like a very good bit of scenery for showing off one of Senzafine’s recent gowns and letting you know that Senzafine and the Muses have had to more their mainstores. Senzafine has also put on a sale in conjunction with the move. All details about the two sales and the move below, plus a brief look at the newest gacha hair from Analog Dog.

Sunset Views

I promised you would be seeing more of the new castle from Fanatik, so here is a view by one of the windows. I really like the wistfulness created by someone gazing out a window like this and I thought it made for a nice contrast with the fiery textures of the new gown from Senzafine for We Love Role-Play. I also added in a further light source in the shape of a brazier from Fantavatar & Moonstruck, also from We Love Role-Play. Which reminds me, there’s a few things I would love to see in terms of decor for medieval houses and castles. Number one on that list? Rushes for covering the floors, that would give a great, rustic look. Storage chests are another nice decor item that is great for filling out a room a bit with.

Ladies of Ice and Fire

Today is George R.R. Martin’s 70th birthday (happy birthday, George!), so it seems only right to be blogging Senzafine’s Elswyth gown which comes in 12 colour combinations inspired by Westerosi Houses. To show a bit of the variety available, I tried something I haven’t done in a while, namely to setup my avatar in three different looks and photo each separately. I had to be a little more careful than usual with lighting so that it work fine to splice the images together, so it is a bit flatter than I would like. But I think I need to play around with this more; it beats having to buy mesh body parts, skins, hair and clothing for multiple alts!
