Otherworldly

This year I decided to combat the urge to shop for real things I don’t need during Black Friday by instead buying lots and lots of virtual things. I did get a few things IRL as well, but only planned purchases I had had my eye on for a while. The same was not strictly true for my Second Life shopping spree. ;) Some of it will be seen in this post, but there’s plenty left for later too. I’ve also got a brand new release to talk about, the first new hair from Wasabi for a while and it comes with some big changes for the brand.

With a sim at my disposal and a habit of picking up decor, I don’t use backdrops a lot. But for specific scenes, like seasonal decorations, they come in very handy. This backdrop from Simply Shelby was out at the recent round of La vie en pose but I did not manage to get it blogged before the event closed. Bad Freyja.

The gorgeous dress/outfit is one of three I snagged from deviousMind during their Black Friday sale. Allani, here in black and bronze, can be worn in several different ways as all the pieces are separate.

To keep me company, I prettied up my Teeglepet Arabian with both some lights from Abaddon Arts and a new mane from Cheval D’or (another one of my Black Friday purchases). The mane is part of a set with a mane and a tail, but the tail was having some issues that needed fixing so I will have to show that one at a later point.

We haven’t reached the end of my sale shopping yet, however. I took advantage of LeLutka’s 50% off sale to pick up two new heads, one of them being Zora that I’ve had my eye on for a while. Finally a head from LeLutka that can do a properly bold nose. And, just as rare, a skin that can handle such a nose. Of course, while testing and being indecisive, I actually missed the sale at Nar Mattaru… But, I had fallen in love with two of the skins so I had to buy them anyway.

Finally, we have the new release from Wasabi. Rio is the first style with sleek, beautiful alpha textures from the brand and it also comes with a new HUD and new textures. The way the colours are sold has also been changed; you will now get 355 different colours/colour-combinations for L$400 (see below for an overview). The Rio style also includes unrigged bangs but I often prefer my hairs without so I did not wear them for these photos.
