Hair Fair - Exile

Hair Fair 2012 is finally here and with it comes four sims full of brand new hairs. As usual, the fair benefits the Wigs for Kids charity, so you can shop and contribute at the same time. Mesh is, as expected, big this year and the hairstyle of the fair has to be the braid across the shoulder; I’ve seen a bunch of great ones.

My first pick is a mesh hair (for long hairs, I find it hard to even consider anything else now) but it isn’t a braid. Instead, it is this charming style from Exile, found on the Hair Fair - Sand sim.

Nightlife

Yesterday, I found myself wanting to get a photo or two in for the Hair Fair contest before the deadline at midnight. But, all the ideas I came up on the theme of “Freedom” with lacked the right hair or the right clothes or the right poses. Until, when flipping through poses, I came across LAP’s “Getting Down” set. Ah-ha. Dancing, losing oneself in the music, that is definitely an expression of freedom. I bought a hair I had been eyeing—Mango from DeLa, a new-to-me store with some really nice mesh hair and a nice range of reds—and I knew I had the perfect outfit in elymode’s 54 separates.

But, where to shoot? It proved very hard to find a good-looking disco or nightclub that wasn’t packed with people, but then I recalled a recent release from chanimations called NeonLights. It turned out to be perfect.

A Private Invitation

It isn’t often that you get such a treat, but the skin I am wearing today is a new version of an old favourite; Zarya from Skin Within. It is available at Flawless Summer Lovin’ Sale for just L$50!

I am also wearing a drop-dead gorgeous new jewellery set from Earthstones and the mesh sari from {bilo} that came out some weeks ago.

Forests of the Night

The Fairy Tales event opened yesterday. It runs until July 8th, but with such a theme I just had to try and get in there as soon as possible. The haul from my first visit ended up being a hair from Exile and a mesh corset from Aura. I had my eye on another mesh piece as well, but since there wasn’t a demo I had to pass it by.

I am also wearing a pair of brand-new mesh sandals (with mesh feet) from lassitude & ennui and I am using the Godswood skybox from Trompe Loeil.

Springtime Romance

From Insolence comes a fresh, spring-inspired lingerie set called Mary, offered in light colours such as the cream seen here. Cotton with a touch of lace makes for a sweet, romantic look that pairs well with the newest mesh hair from Wasabi Pills.

A Red and White Wedding

What else to call a post that combines some fabulous new mesh adornments inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire from Tekeli-li—both jewellery and a hairstyle, at that—and another limited edition wedding gown from Nomine? The gown, btw, is due to be retired in a few days, so make sure to check it out soon!

A Pale Princess

Gorgeous gowns are a necessary element of a Fantasy Faire. Every self-respecting lady and ethereal elven maiden needs to be dressed appropriately, after all. On the Shifting Sands sim, you’ll find Kouse’s Sanctum and a wide variety of very lovely gowns.

I am also wearing a Fantasy Faire skin from ND/MD Skins & Shapes.

Green is the new Gray

The last weeks have been crazy, but I finally managed to squeeze in some photography today to cover some new releases, an on-going event and an upcoming event. Phew.

The on-going event is Wear Gray for a Day which benefits the American Brain Tumor Association. I am not exactly wearing gray, but I am wearing an eyeshadow from elymode that’s one of the donation items for the fair. The capris with mesh attachments are also from elymode and are available in two special colours for the event.

The upcoming event that I want to make note of is Pose Fair 2012 which will run from Sunday April 15th to April 30th and showcase 120 vendors across two sims. Lately, I’ve been playing a lot with furniture with built-in poses and animations, such as these chairs from our patisserie by Alchemy Immortalis.

Deirdre of the Sorrows

Alchemy Immortalis has done it again. That is, released a must-have jewellery collection. It is called “Deirdre of the Sorrows” and it is inspired by legendary Irish lovers, Deirdre and Naoise. The center-piece is a stunning, unisex ring but you can pick up a wide array of complimentary pieces as well.

Of course I had to shoot these pieces on their lovely Empress and Hierophant sim. I also needed a fabulous new red hair to go with the jewellery, which ended up being Truth’s new mesh release, Parisa.

Fashion for Life: Summery

With the Zarah necklace from Bliensen + MaiTai and the Bindi top from Sn@tch, both from Fashion for Life, the end result is a bit of a summery, bohemian look.

Fashion for Life: Innocent?

For my second Fashion for Life-post, I’ve paired some stunning new jewellery from Earthstones with a sexy silk from Solange.

Preservation

The second round of FLUX has started and the theme for this month is taxidermy. This has sparked some distinctly unusual and quirky creations that could inspire some very neat photography as well as some very fun, wearable items such as this mesh skirt from elymode and the jewellery set from Schadenfreude. I am also wearing a new mesh hair from Wasabi Pills for the March Mesh Madness event.

Money, Money, Money

The Festival of Sin is still going strong. If Lust and Wrath aren’t your favourite sins, how about Greed? LAP has several great pose & prop sets to express a love for money with. Of course, a little Lust on the side is necessary, here in the form of the sexy Lussuria sets from elymode.

Rough and Tumble

Another post today? Indeed, we’re trying to make up for the lethargy following our visit to London over the weekend. For this post, how about a combination of Wrath and Lust from the Festival of Sin? It certainly doesn’t hurt (well, maybe a little) when one leads to the other…

Wrathful and Gloomy

For the Festival of Sin, Tableau Vivant has released a set of tableaus depicting different sins. They are wonderful, mood-filled pieces that can be used either with the included poses or as the backdrop for any pose you might want to use. I decided to try both approaches for these photos.
