The Devil’s Playground

Elaborate sets with a lot of poses are hard to do justice with just static images and writing, so when I got the opportunity to blog the Devil’s Playground set from Roawenwood, a video seemed like the natural choice, albeit with some limitations. Rather than ending up in a situation where the video needed to be restricted due to content, I opted to not show the naughtier poses, though hopefully going through the menues still gives a good sense of what the set has to offer. Also featured in the video is a gacha set from deviousMind and a new male bento head from LightStar.

By Moonlight

The beautiful gowns from Senzafine always inspire me and the latest release, Aradia, is no different. I fell in love with the texturing of this gown as soon as I put it on and it offers some truly sumptuous colour combinations. Blue is not normally the colour I reach for first, but this version—called Moonlight—was just too lovely to pass up and I used it as the inspiration for the rest of the setting.

Gypsy Girl

A few days ago, Truth sent a new hair to his VIP group. This group has been excellent value but this gift was particularly interesting as it is the first release with brand new textures as well as a styling hud that offers four styles in one. The best way to show it was of course to make a little video, in which I also show off releases from deviousMind, the Plastik and Anachron.

Invitation

Aisling has two elaborate gachas out for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival and together with We Love Role-Play releases from the Muses and Paper Moon, it lent itself to a touch of oriental fantasy featuring a desert night and a hard-to-resist invitation.

Little Bird

We’ve had a few days of glorious weather, more summer than spring, and the woods have really come to life with budding trees and bird song everywhere. It put me in the mood for a forest scene, which also happened to suit one of several new releases from Noble Creations quite well. And once I had settled on the vine-covered bird cage, it seemed appropriate to continue on the theme of locks by using a new gacha from deviousMind.

Astrology Hair

Astrology is a new hair brand from the creator behind Alice Project, featuring among other things a custom HUD which allows you to pick your twenty favourite colours to make your own mix pack. I decided it could be fun to show it off in a video, in which I also try out some of the other features of the HUD. If I ramble even more than usual, it might have something to do with having gotten up at 4 am to take part in a working dog trial for the first time. I did manage to retroactively sort out that the two hairs featured in the video will be available at Hairology on the 10th of May. The first style from Astrology, called Magenta, is available at Uber already.

The Poet’s Muse

I had hoped to do more Fantasy Faire posts, but the past weekend was a bit of a blur with both a dressage competition and a dog show. Now I am trying to catch up on RL work (not sure what possessed me to squeeze in a Literature class amidst everything else!) so my blogging backlog has grown even larger. However, a bit of a break for some creative fun is good for recharging, so I took some time off to setup a scene with a charming prop from Noble Creations. The table, that is, not Ran. Though he’s a pretty charming prop too. ;)

Fantasy Faire 2017 - Toga Time

Ran has been keeping himself busy with our website of late, but I managed to lure him to the Fantasy Faire for some shopping. I was determined that at the very least, he’d get the toga from Last Ride. As it happened, I also had some classical garb to blog, although despite my misleading post title I am actually wearing a himation and not a toga. For that matter, Ran’s toga is not quite what you’d see on an upstanding Roman aristocrat either. But this is about the Fantasy Faire, after all, and I do think both Ran and ... uhm ... “Frey” look rather fetching.

Fantasy Faire 2017 - Fairy Frolics

Inspired by the lovely Honeysuckle Fairy dress (complete with wings!) from Paper Moon, I went full fairy today and flitted about the Faireland Junctions. This stunning sim, which is the waypoint to all the other sims, is built by the talented Sayige Lotus of Balderdash. Its amazingly lush, with huge trees that make you feel like a pixie and masses of fantastic flowers everywhere. Make sure you don’t just pass through it!

Fantasy Faire 2017 - In the Air

I am back to wandering the Fairelands after a short break for RL interruptions. Today, I settled on the lovely Kakushi Pasu sim where the Literary Festival is held. In fact, I was there on Sunday as well, holding a small talk about history in A Song of Ice and Fire. I have participated in the Literary Festival for three years now and I think it is a fabulous part of the Faire, so do check out what they have to offer during the rest of the Faire.

Fantasy Faire 2017 - The Rose

They call her the Rose. Never forget that all roses have thorns. This one might hide hers, and the sweet scent of her flowers will distract you, but you would do best to handle her with caution.

I’ve spent a fair bit of time at the Rose sim since the Fantasy Faire opened, and between this dress by the Muses and a brand-new mask from Illusions, I couldn’t help but to imagine a mysterious courtesan who might just make her home in this kind of place.

Fantasy Faire 2017 - Silvan Moon Designs

On the second day of the Fantasy Faire, I visited the beautiful Dawn’s Promise sim, built by Marcus Inkpen and Sharni Azalee of The Looking Glass. Beautiful ruins and abundant flowers spread over this sim, where little islands are connected by arching bridges. Many of the elements used in the sim build are also available for purchase from The Looking Glass, which as a sim sponsor occupies pride of place on Dawn’s Promise. Many of them are sold as RFL items, including some shades of the gorgeous Blush Trees that sheds their beautiful rose/lilac flowers.

Fantasy Faire 2017

Fantasy Faire 2017 is finally open! The Fairelands are awaiting visitors and if you can’t manage to get in right away, you can get a look at three of the nine shopping sims in a video that I put together. I apologize in advance for some random panning around at times as well as a fair bit of rambling. The sims featured are Chaddul Ro, The Rose and San Mora and I also picked out a few creators on each sim to take a closer look at. I did learn after completing the video that some elements of the Rose were not installed at the time I made the video, so to see the Rose in full bloom make sure to visit the sim on your own (but you should do that anyway, it has some great creators on it).

Into Another World

With the help of a few pieces from Genre—most notably the amazing Underworld Gate from Anachron—I am preparing myself to step into the Fairelands as the Fantasy Faire 2017 is about to begin. The blogger preview starts today and then the Fairelands opens to everyone tomorrow. I have a few little previews to share with you today and there will be plenty more over the 10 days that the Faire is open.

Midnight Dancer

Aisling launched their new brand Voluptas Virtualis some months ago, but it is only just now that the brand has received its own, separate store space as well as a subscriber group all of its own. From now on, the idea is that medieval/fantasy items go under the Aisling brand and more modern items, with a sexy and elegant feel, go under Voluptas Virtualis. The bodysuit I am showing today is one such item.
