Dramatic Kate

Its fortunate that I am not much for going out on Fridays, because I am absolutely knackered today. I have my weekly riding lesson on Fridays and today our instructor decided to work us to the bone. And to think there are people who insist riding isn’t a proper sport because you just sit there and the horse does all the work. Yeah, right. Anyway, I ended up napping a lot longer than I had planned to after dinner, so I didn’t have time for a full skin review today to celebrate the fact that Skin Fair 2018 is now open. You do get a look a the omega applier for alaskametro from the fair, but that is a face that has been out before, just not as a full range.

Skin Fair 2018: alaskametro

A very image-heavy post today. My idea of one “on location” shot and a couple of skin shots quickly fell by the wayside as I wanted to show more details of the decor used in this photo and as I really wanted to do a tone comparison for this skin since it is more of a full review. The skin in question is one of three new faces from alaskametro for Skin Fair 2018 (which opens on the 9th) and I’ve paired it with a new outfit from the Dreaming Thicket and a decor set from the Plastik.

Skin Fair 2018: Adam n Eve & Kanon

I mentioned Skin Fair 2018 in my previous post and now it is time to start with some proper coverage of the event. My plan is to mix it in with my regular blogging by opening up each skin fair blog with a regular “on location” photo as opposed to a plain studio shot of a skin. Then I will give you a good look at the front and back of the skin and a close-up of the face. I do plan to do some more detailed skin reviewing in the write-ups as well, especially if I try any new brands. However, the first post focuses on Adam n Eve and one of the shapes I’ve made for sachi’s new skin under my Kanon brand, so this one is more informative than a proper review.

Waiting in the Dark

I have been busy setting up for Skin Fair the last few days—I will be participating with my shape brand, Kanon—but this is a combination I have wanted to shoot for a while. It features my last two picks from February’s Bound Box; a harness from Narcisse and a lounger from Violetility. I’ve also added stockings from Luxuria for the new round of Blush and another new hair from Wasabi—they’re on quite a roll with new releases right now. Finally, I am giving a sneak peak of the Anya skin from Adam n Eve which will be available at Skin Fair 2018 when it opens on the 9th.

A Little Alchemy

Just like yesterday, I am a bit late with this post in relation to the events that some of the new items in it were released at. February has been a very busy month and it could definitely have used a few extra days this year! Fortunately, the setup for this scene was extremely easy as it uses the pre-furnished bonus house from the first Shadow Box series by DRD.

Spring Flowers

We’ve reached March but the last week has been treating us to winds from Siberia, so I am not quite feeling that spring is in the air just yet. But the lovely Bellflower gown from Dreaming Thicket is definitely a dress for spring and fortunately its easy to have whatever season you like in Second Life. I do feel like I need to shop for some nice grasses and flowers to complete my landscaping, however; I always get stuck somewhere after I’ve tweaked the shape of the land and plopped down some rocks and trees.

Piratical Ambitions

When I first tried posting this entry, we ran into some persistent uploading issues on the site. As a result, I am posting this well after I already put up the images on Flickr, and more as a place-holder than an actual blog.

Flesh Scribblings

Another piece from the Bound Box that really caught my fancy was the Alpha hair from Analog Dog. While rigged mesh has allowed long hairs to work in a lot of positions, there are always exceptions. And if you want to have a bit of flex mixed in with the mesh for softness and movement, you most definitely need a special hair just for that position. In this case, on all fours. The hair actually comes with a couple poseball as well, but here I am using a lingerie pose from Boudoir Rouge. Also featured is the newest lingerie set from Salt & Pepper and a romantic tattoo from Fallen Gods.

Bound to Please

Thanks to a giveaway by Violetility, I received a copy of the Bound Box for February. This is a subscription boxed aimed at the BDSM/Kinky community in Second Life. I considered doing an unboxing vlog, but given the nature of the box I decided to take a look at the contents first and determined that photos might be a better way to show it off. So, what I am going to do is pick my favourites from the box and show them across a few posts, intermixed with other items. For this first post, I selected the items from Dictatorshop and Essenz, which I paired with among other things new releases from Wasabi and Luxuria. I am also wearing glittery makeup from alaskametro’s Alchemy gacha at the Cosmetic Fair.

Roawenwood Romance

Today, I will have to settle for being predictable with the mood of my post. I really couldn’t do anything else once I tried out the Heartstones Lovers Dance Circle from Roawenwood; it has a really lovely selection of standing couple poses, something I suddenly realised I have way too little off. I had a very hard time picking which poses to shoot and I kept wishing I had done this as another video just to show more of it. It also turned out to be an excellent way to show off two new We Love Role-Play releases—a gown from Senzafine and a hair from Tableau Vivant—and a Noble Creations release for Enchantment.

Dirty Diana

Spending the morning at the stables is always a good way to start the day. I am helping start up a horse that has been resting after an injury and this time of the year the cold weather can make that a rather “exciting” affair. Fortunately, she’s very well behaved and has been keeping all hooves on the ground. I suppose I should add a “knock on wood” here, because you never know.

My Second Life is rather undressed at the moment; I have ended up with a variety of more or less naughty things to review. In this post, a harness from Voluptas Virtualis plus decor from the Plastik and Roawenwood. I will need to feature the Roawenwood item in more detail later on, I didn’t have a playmate on hand for these photos. I’ve also made another shape for Vista’s new Diana head, this time for an alaskametro skin.

WLRP & Vista’s Diana

Last Friday Vista Animations released their second bento mesh head, Diana. As I had purchased Lia when it came out and been very pleasantly surprised by its quality, I wasted no time in demoing and ultimately buying Diana. It certainly did not hurt that she is currently on sale for L$2000 (regular price will be L$2500) PLUS if you purchased Lia already and buy Diana on the Marketplace, you get an instant rebate of another L$1000 which makes it a truly excellent deal.

Since I already had a vlog in mind for Roawenwood’s We Love Role-Play release, I decided to combine this with a look at Diana as well. Also featured is a new outfit from Dreaming Thicket and a new hair from Stealthic.

Be My Anti-Valentine

Roawenwood has a delicious Valentine and Anti-Valentine gacha out at the Gacha Garden, with a table full of cookies, cupcakes and assorted treats whether you are blissfully in love or have a distinctly darker outlook on things. For this setup, I went with the latter option and filled the table with such treats as Broken Hearts Cookies and Voodoo Doll Cookies, among others. On the table you can also see the Seed of Inspiration, a bird cage with some charming contents.

Live On Stage

Now that I have started doing vlogs, I seem to come across opportunities for doing them on a regular basis. Take the Performer Chair from Dutchie (PG version here), for example. How could I not showcase this with a video? It is great for photos, too, but that’s the beauty of combining blogs and vlogs, I can do both. Video is also a great way to show off the rigging of mesh clothing, such as this new bodysuit and harness from the Plastik.

Spinning Tales

I have a great fondness for fairy-tales and my book shelves bear evidence of this, being home to a number of different collections of classic fairy-tales as well as various modern retellings and reworkings. Once I knew I wanted to photo the Lucrezia gown from the Muses—out now at the February round of We Love Role-Play, which has a brand new and quite striking build—in front of a window in my castle from Fanatik, a spinning wheel seemed like the perfect fairy tale decor item. Fortunately, I had one from Cheeky Pea from an earlier Deco(c)rate. It also seemed appropriate to decorate the walls with some tapestries from Paper Moon.
