Otherworldly

The Silver Lady

While I did not manage to win the massive castle from the Bloodcroft Castle Gacha by Death Row Designs, I did come away with some very nice furnishings that I decided to setup in my castle from Fanatik to make a cosy, gothic scene. The fireplace, in particular, is gorgeously detailed. Then I dressed up in the Claire gown from the Muses and took my place as the lady of the manor.

The Celts

From East to West, Genre leaves its Moroccan round behind and moves on to the Celts. My favourite item this round has to be the sets from LORE, featuring a set of granite stones and a set of sandstone stones. There is also another lovely gown from the Muses and some very nice jewellery from Bliensen+MaiTai.

Reading the Stones

The current round of The Fantasy Collective is called Vikings and while there were some things on sale that mystified me as to how they connected to the theme, there were also quite a few creators present who did an excellent job. One of these is Hextraordinary with their release of a set of runestones.

Dragon Siblings

For once there was something at We Love Role-Play that made Ran go “ooooh” (and hopefully there will be more in the future, with their new men’s section) and that ended up being the start of this photo. Black and red are Targaryen colours, after all, and I just happened to have a new gown from the Muses in the same colours. Add to that the awesome dragons from Aii which, although not right for Valyrian dragons, definitely add a special touch.

Shadow Box Unboxing September 2017

The first Shadow Box from Death Row Designs was released today and I have done my first unboxing vlog in quite a while. As I am travelling early tomorrow, I will be a bit brief in my written commentary and share a bit of what is written about the Shadow Box on the DRD website, which I linked above and which you should visit to find out more about how the subscription works.

“The DRD Shadow Box is a monthly subscription box that combines the mystery of getting something new and unknown once a month, with a bonus reward for purchasing a full series. Every Shadow Box contains twelve items created by Death Row Designs. Every series is 6 months, or 6 Shadow Boxes. At the end of a series the bonus reward becomes available to anyone who has received or purchased every box in the series.”

“The Shadow Box contains twelve products, six light or “normal” products and the other six are their dark or “abnormal” counterparts, or shadows. These items are not simple recolors. Every shadow has something unique about it ensuring you are receiving 12 unique items every month. Although every box stands on its own and can be used with or without the other months, a full series of six will reward you with not one, but two buildings at the end of the series. A light building and its dark counterpart, made specifically for that series, can be redeemed at no extra charge.”

Moroccan Feast

A few days ago, Genre’s Moroccan round opened and in this post I am featuring three releases from the event: the Senga gown from the Muses, the Weapons of the 40 Thieves wall-decoration from Paper Moon and the Moroccan Feast from the Half Moon Market. I am also wearing a gacha hair from Wasabi Pills from the Chapter Four.

The gown comes in several bright patterns and in fitmesh sizes for two Belleza bodies (Isis and Freya), Maitreya and both (yay) Slink bodies. The Weapons come in cool and warm shades and as a whole set or individual pieces.

The Desert Camp

Paper Moon just released a gorgeous oasis set for the Home Show and it provided the perfect backdrop for the newest items from the Muses and Voluptas Virtualis. I also brought on my alt wearing the Teegle Bento Horse Avatar. I love that you can have the avatar look like different horse breeds by altering the shape—the one I wear here is of course intended to look like an Arabian, and I think it manages quite well!

Invitation

Aisling has two elaborate gachas out for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival and together with We Love Role-Play releases from the Muses and Paper Moon, it lent itself to a touch of oriental fantasy featuring a desert night and a hard-to-resist invitation.

Fantasy Faire 2017 - The Rose

They call her the Rose. Never forget that all roses have thorns. This one might hide hers, and the sweet scent of her flowers will distract you, but you would do best to handle her with caution.

I’ve spent a fair bit of time at the Rose sim since the Fantasy Faire opened, and between this dress by the Muses and a brand-new mask from Illusions, I couldn’t help but to imagine a mysterious courtesan who might just make her home in this kind of place.

Into the Underworld

Genre has left the Victorian era behind and taken a leap into the Underworld with the opening of its April round. The theme was open to a variety of interpretations and while quite a few designers seem to have had a certain series of movies in mind, you will also find items such as demonic horns, portals into other worlds and dark altars, to name but a few.

Pretty Poses

Later today, at 12 pm SLT, the annual Pose Fair opens its doors. Visitors will be treated to a sim full of over 100 pose designers, so make sure to take the opportunity to add some new poses to your collection. If you have the slightest interest in photoing and/or blogging in Second Life, you can never have too many poses (even if it can feel like it at times if you haven’t kept up with sorting them!). You will find a mix of stand-alone poses and props with poses, though when I toured the sim yesterday I was surprised to see that there weren’t that many creators advertising bento poses.

A Feast for a Muse

The Muses are having a big Marketplace sale with individual items at L$125 and fatpacks at L$800. You don’t want to miss this if you like gowns, whether of a more vintage flavour or for your fantasy/medieval roleplay. You will also find a variety of vintage lingerie as well as some accessories. I am wearing one of the gowns on sale in these photos, as it happened to make an excellent match with the laden feasting table from Noble Creations.

Treasure Chest Unboxing March 2017

Feeling like you should be treated like royalty? Then you will want to take a look at my unboxing video for the Treasure Chest for March. Its theme is “Royal Treatment” and it includes 12 designers, each with their own interpretation of what that might be. The teaser photo reveals a few of the things you will find in the box, but to see all of the goodies you will have to watch the video. If you like what you see, the Treasure Chest now costs L$3000, but if you had signed up before the reveal it would have been L$1500, so keep that in mind for next month if you would like to give the only roleplay oriented subscription box on the grid a try.

Pirate Girl

For some reason, I had the hardest time getting this photo sorted out. I don’t know how many different locations and backdrops I tried before finally deciding to slip into this new dress from the Muses and all of a sudden getting the idea that it looked a bit pirate-y. The tattoos from Silentsparrow (for this past 50 Linden Friday) may not be classical pirate tattoos exactly, but why be limited by that? I am also giving you a second look at one of Adam n Eve’s Skin Fair exclusives, subtly made up with some makeup from alaskametro.

Enchanted Woods

Since I spent the weekend at a couple of dog show’s in Norway I was only able to visit Enchantment yesterday to peruse what Cinderella had inspired this round’s designers to create. It turned out to be quite a nice collection, capturing different facets of the fairy tale. There were, as one would expect, quite a few stunning ballgowns, but what also caught my eye was this shorter dress by the Muses. It seemed like the sort of thing one might wear when wandering about an enchanted wood…
