Otherworldly

Undressed in Style

I’ve said it before but it bears repeating: I love dressing up in just lingerie and jewellery. A new release from the talented camilla Yosuke of Insolence is today’s pretty underthings and the jewellery—which is all mesh—comes from a new and exciting brand called (after its creator) Maxi Gossamer, which so far can be found only on the Marketplace.

Etheria, Take Two

Etheria 2 ends today, so if you have yet to check out the lovely clothing and jewelry on offer, make sure to head over there soon. I am wearing the My Lady Love set from Dark Mouse, just one of several beautiful jewelry sets designed for the event by the various participants.

You will also get a look at the brand-new Harper skin from Adam n Eve, a corset from Sn@tch and the new boots from lassitude & ennui, as well as a new prop from Glitterati.

Painted Up

Etheria 2: Painted Ladies is now open. It is a small-scale, themed event where five jewellers have created pieces inspired by the “painted ladies” of the Old West and five clothing designers have created matching outfits.

I really enjoy themed events, they always bring out some interesting results, and Etheria is certainly evidence of this. For this first look at what’s on offer at the event—which ends on January 8th—I am showing the jewellery from Caroline’s Jewelery. I am also wearing a pair of new mesh boots from lassitude & ennui which were spot on for this theme.

Winter Insolence

We’re nearing Christmas and its time to get that shopping done…as I know all too well, having just had a little RL crisis in terms of planned gifts going awry. But at least I got my photos done first so that you get a look at this new lingerie set from Insolence, the Collabor88 items from Earthstones and a new hair from Wasabi Pills. Also, read on for a hint about a limited edition skin for 99 L.

Lounging in Vintage Style

For this post on the Vintage Fair, I’ve gathered three of my SL addictions; skins, jewellery and pose props. The skins are from Curio, who has two new lines for the fair. The jewellery is from Caroline’s Jewelry and Amorous and the pose props are from LostAngel.

I’ve also got a different sort of prop in the shape of Ran for the first two shots, which called for a couple.

A Last Vintage Sneak Peek

Just around an hour to go until the Vintage Fair opens and time for the last of my three sneak peeks. Though not the last post, I have plenty more goodies to showcase.

In this post, I look at a charming dress from Icing, a beautiful necklace from Caroline’s and one of two new skins for the Vintage Fair from Curio.

More Vintage Elegance

Only a few hours now until the Vintage Fair opens at 4 PM and here’s another sneak peek. This time featuring a lovely dress from The Sea Hole, a gorgeous necklace from Donna Flora and, once again, the Rosemary hair from Alice Project. The skin is Piper from Adam n Eve, a striking freckled skin.

Vintage Fair

The Vintage Fair opens tomorrow (November 11th) at 4 PM SLT. I’ve spent the last two days browsing all the stores—this is a huge event—and getting a few blog posts ready.

This is the first one, featuring League’s gorgeous vintage lingerie, some stunning jewellery from Amorous and a vintage-style mesh hair from Alice Project. Plus poses by oOo Studios, also new for the Vintage Fair, and the Ariadne skin by Adam n Eve (not from the fair).

A Taste of Freckles

To show off the lovely new Piper skin from Adam n Eve—which has gorgeous freckles—I headed for the charming French bakery on Alchemy Immortalis. I also slipped into the new “one size fits all” mesh skirt from Ingenue, yet another new mesh hair from Wasabi Pills, new mesh boots from Insolence and some lovely new jewellery from Dark Mouse. Whew, I think that’s all the newness this time.

Broken Dreams

Evie’s Closet, where you will find some of the most beautiful gowns in Second Life, is having a sale to celebrate its fourth anniversary. With some exceptions, the mainstore is marked down to 50%. There are some fantastic deals to be had!

However, the gown I am showing today is NOT on sale since it is the very latest release, called Nocturne. But since you get _two_ gowns for the price of one in the Nocturne set, it is pretty much as good as if it was on sale anyway.

I am also wearing yet another new mesh hair from Wasabi Pills, which rapidly is becoming the store for mesh hair, and a mesh necklace from lassitude & ennui.

Drowned

While rigged mesh has some distinct drawbacks (such as not being editable in any way), unrigged mesh can be truly awesome. How about 1 prim jewellery that can be resized independently in any direction? As in, you can make it wider without making it taller or deeper or vice versa.

This soon-to-be-released set from Tekeli-li—it will be out later today and that will also mark the start of the store’s traditional Halloween sale, an event not to be missed—is a stunning full mesh ensemble where each piece is a single prim. Make copies, setup the colours you want and delete the scripts and you have a very resource-friendly set of jewellery. Fellow fans of A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones will definitely want to take a closer look.

Autumn Retreat

The three gorgeous sims from the creators behind Alchemy Immortalis have now become four with the addition of Ceangal where they will be offering a Bed & Breakfast experience. If you want to explore this lovely new addition to this beautiful corner of Second Life, you have until the 26th of October when rentals commence and the sim closes to the public. Of course, you could always book a private stay after that; read more about this—including the auction for a special Halloween Party on Ceangal—on their website.

I did my exploring of Ceangal in a new mesh dress from PixelDolls and new mesh booties by Adam n Eve.

Fun and Games

Yesterday, Ran and I spent a few hours going through The Flesh Game, this year’s Halloween adventure/puzzle from the Pulse sim. I can’t say I am big on horror in general, but we’ve both thoroughly enjoyed these games for several years now. The amount of work that goes into the story, the build and the scripting is quite amazing and on top of that there are free gifts from participating stores that you can find throughout the game.

In light of this, I wanted to feature some clothing from Sn@tch today, as a thank you for the great fun we had yesterday. I am also mixing in a few things from the 4.44.444 event for Free*Style’s 4th birthday. It ends on the 14th, so make sure to check it out if you haven’t.

Adorning Ariadne

There are few things I enjoy as much in SL as a new skin. I love finding skins that fit my existing shapes and I love being inspired by a skin to create a new shape. Fortunately, working for Adam n Eve means that I get to try out a lot of new skins since sachi Vixen loves to make them.

This time, I’d like to introduce you all to Ariadne, who may just have the best body of any skin that sachi has made. I am also showing a variety of jewellery from Bewildebeest, a store full of very original jewellery designs.

Crystalism

While LL has disappointed (at least for the time being) those hoping for rigged mesh that conforms to our avatar shapes, mesh can be a pretty cool thing unrigged as well. The latest release from Tekeli-li, the Crystalism set, is a non-rigged mesh set which weighs in at ... very few prims indeed. The necklace is one prim, the top and the bottom three prims each.
