LivejournalToday I am returning to the future for another look at some of the items created for Rezzable’s “The Future is Now” show (read more about it here). I am particularly pleased by the chance to, once again, combine Skin Within and Tekeli-li. I think Ayesha Bisiani’s beautiful and imaginative skins go particularly well together with Tekelili Tantalus’s fantastic creations. So far, they’ve mostly met up in fantasy-inspired ways, but this time we’re talking SF.
Skin: Droe Exotica by Skin Within
Hair: Inanna White by Tekeli-li
Clothes: Vega Violet by Tekeli-li
The first of Ayesha’s two skins is Droe Exotica, a beautiful blue creature with a boldly decorated face. The makeup and facial decorations are very much in the style Ayesha explores in her regular skins, just pushed a few notches further for an even more exotic look. The contrast of the reds and oranges against the blue is both unusual and successful. I love how the skin retains the same degree of realism in the body texturing and shading as on the regular skin, it just happens to be a striking shade of blue instead.
I “dressed” Droe in most of the prim parts from Tekeli-li’s Vega armour. I wanted to show a lot of the skin, so I left out the chest piece as well as the clothing layers. But rest assure, the armour provides the option to be fully covered. Since clothing layers are included, Vega is not colour change as most of Tekeli-li’s offerings, but you get quite an array of prim pieces to play with. The prims combine sculpting and regular prims, to get some harder, more futuristic edges. I finished off with the Inanna hair from Tekeli-li. Its a more fantastical hair, but I liked the pulled-back style to show all of Droe’s forehead.
Skin: A.N.A. Cyborg Floral by Skin Within
Hair: Breeze Crimson by Exile
Clothes: Danae Belt by Tekeli-li
Accessories: Danae Jewelry by Tekeli-li
The second of Ayesha’s skins is A.N.A Cyborg Floral, which takes a more organic look at the future. It also pushes even further than Droe in terms of creating something very unusual. The skin tone is a striking shade of gold, and her face as well as much of her body is adorned with metal flowers and gears. You’re just seeing the front and the side here, but the decorations also spill over onto her back. I particularly like the flowers that wind their way down her leg, and the leafy vine curling around her breast.
With her more organic feel, I put her in parts of another Tekeli-li piece (not from the show, though) and added the wild Breeze hair from Exile. But it was hard to put much of anything on, because it really is a shame to cover up any of the lovely decorations.
If you missed the first of the fashion shows where all these amazing creations where showcased, do try to make it to one of the two remaining shows. There are some very cool and creative pieces available at the Greenies sim (and only there for the first three weeks), and seeing them in motion really adds something.
Terrific post Freyja! I always look forward to your take on the Rezzable events.
I agree - I knew Ayesha would create something amazing again, but when she first presented me with pictures of these skins I almost fell off my chair. She has excelled herself.
And I LOVE Vega as well! I’ve been a fan of Tekeli-li since I started SL, and I was so pleased when he agreed to be in the show. And of course he rocked it.
Thanks, Winter. :)
Great work on putting it all together, and getting such a great lineup of designers. Hoping for more! ;)
