Kurta and to the Point

Somehow, I don’t know how exactly, I completely missed that Zaara had a terrific new piece of ethnic fashion for men (and women) earlier in the month. Only when I popped over to admired the new shoes that Freyja reviewed yesterday did I spot them. One mega fatpack later, here I am to sure the good news!

The Adyan Kurta is a terrific piece of ethnic clothing, based on the traditional kurta of India. Zaara’s textures are some of the most beautifully executed I’ve seen on clothing for men, with a gorgeous sense of color that provides a rich and varied palette. There are nine shirt colors, grouped into three color groups (earth, dark, and kitsch) if you want to purchase just within that set, and of course the fatpack—at L$990—gets you all of them at a healthy discount (usually it’s L$190 a shirt, or L$380 for a three-color pack, so you save quite a bit). I’ve worn an example of each color range here, featuring the well-done sculpted prim to provide the loose, baggy feel of the kurta and the sculpts for the sleeves.

The torso shot, of course, is the kitsch pack Saffron kurta. The kitsch colors differ from the others in having this traditional pattern (and what I’m guessing is text) on it, which I think looks quite handsome. In fact, I think the saturated, rich kitsch colors are perhaps my favorites, and I think I would have liked to see a more light colors (including a more off-white, cream color as is available with the Isis shirts) for the kurtas. But that’s surely a minor complaint! I just had to pair the kurta with one of the best pairs of jeans in SL, Zaara’s own Classic Jeans, which are one of my go-tos. And the jewelry from Mandala recommended itself as fitting the right sort of ethnic look.

As to the rest, well, it’s some of my favorite pieces from Adam n Eve, which has just reopened with a completely revamped store build and vendor layout. Highly recommended you drop by to take a look at some of the most diverse male and female skins around, and maybe to grab up some of my favorite shoes for men, such as the M112’s I’m wearing here. I will note, however, that the eyes I’m wearing—in a handsome shade of brown—come from Amacci. The Real Eyes are a full range of eyes in something like two dozen shades, perfect for someone who wants something natural and appealing; they come in standard and large sizes, as well, for those who prefer a more cartoony, big-eyed look.

I now promise I’ll pay much more attention to what’s on sale for men, now that I’m starting to have more time, and seeing as my SL wardrobe is in need of a nice, summery boost for the coming season!
