It’s not often that I buy boots with a modern flair to them, but a new entry from Lucy in Disguise (run by the delightfully-named myvegancookbook Bolissima, who also owns the Adjunct store for men) broke my willpower.
These unisex engineer boots from Lucy in Disguise are excellently sculpted, and come in an impressive array of colors. Featured here is the camel shade, one of six as I recall (I ended up picking up black and brown versions as well). As with many prim boots these days, you attach the boots to the lower leg and then use invisprims for the lower feet. However, with the introduction of alpha layers, I found it quite easy to grab an alpha mask from a freebie collection for feet and use that instead. Strangely, Lucy in Disguise has previously provided alpha masks for the Soft Cell boots, but did not think to provide them for the Engineer Boots. Now that Emerald’s latest beta supports it, it may be something to reconsider.
I’ve paired the boots with the seashell-hued Military Refuge Jacket from Armidi, and the Portland Jeans from newcomer Soren Jaakobs. I did add just a bit of flash with the diamond and platinum ring from alaMood which is quite beautifully textured, but otherwise kept it restrained .... and perhaps a bit scruffy, with the bearded Rio skin from LeLutka and the wild Nick hair from Aoharu.
Lucy in Disguise is a terrific little store, with its proprietor apparently planning to steadily increase what’s available. If the Engineer Boots (and the earlier Soft Cell boots) are any example, future new releases are something to look forward to.
