Armed and Ready for Hair Fair

Its Hair Fair again, a heaven for those who like to fill their inventories with all imaginable (and some not so imaginable) styles of hair in all the colours of the rainbow, and then some, while donating to a good cause (this year’s charity is Wigs for Kids). Or, more precisely, its Hair Fair again starting tomorrow, September 4th. Today was the preview for bloggers and I took advantage of that in the morning to visit some of my favourite hair makers.

To kick off the coverage, we’ve got what I think must be the coolest freebie of the whole fair, Tekeli-li’s Efreet.

Tekeli-li makes some of the most amazing fantasy hairs in SL (as well as some of the most amazing fantasy accessories, too), and at each fair that he participates in he tends to offer some cool freebies. This years Hair Fair style, however, really takes the cake. I suspect that he meant for Efreet to be worn on a bald head (there’s also horns included, you see), but if you skip the horns and put the style with a hairbase you have something that works for a human too. A very kick-ass human, who carries a big dagger as a hair ornament. Just what you will need to manage the lag at hair fair for the first few days.

Included with the hairstyle is also a wielded version of the knife and it is scripted so that you can draw and sheathe the knife, making it appear either in your hand or in the hair. How nifty is that?

And speaking of scripting, the whole hair style is of course as thoroughly scripted as all Tekeli-li items; you can change the hair texture and you can change the ornaments, allowing for almost unlimited colour combinations.

I knew that hair needed a really cool look. The Black Rose outfit from Chaospire was a given. Then I picked the Noir makeup from the new Jasmine skin from Adam n Eve and finally I added a really nifty new jewelry set that I picked up some weeks ago but never had time to blog, the Timekiller set from Violet Voltaire. The very handy white hairbase is from PXL, though I am not sure if Hart has actually released these yet or not. You should be able to get the hair to work with most any hairbase, though white and black will be the shades that are easiest to match. Finally, the poses with so much attitude are, of course, from 5ifth Order.
