Without a Bang

When it comes to prim hair, my taste is sometimes a bit particular, and up until recently it has not been easily satisfied in SL. You see, I don’t care for bangs. Last time I wore them in RL was ... a very long time ago and it was followed by a frustrated period of growing them out. But in SL bangs are found on the majority of hairs, in part because it has been very difficult to create a neat hairline using prims. However, now that we have tattoo layers that can be worn on the head (even multiple tattoo layers in 2.1, though I am not touching that one with a ten-foot pole), no-bang hairs can be combined with hairbases and produce very nice results. Such as with the latest three hairs from Amacci of which I will be featuring my favourite today.

I am also showing one of the latest gowns from Wunderlich’s, a versatile dress that can be both modern and more period depending on how it is worn.

Skin: Jasmine t1 Roses
Hair: Liana Dark Copper and Dark Copper Hairbase by Amacci
Outfit: Velvet Chains White by Wunderlich's
Accessories: Knot Wedge Sandals Black by G Field

Worn long like this, the Velvet Chains dress has a vaguely Grecian feel to it with all the deep drapery achieved by some highly detailed photosourcing. This look features the sleeveless “corsage” shirt, the long glitch pants and the two-part prim skirt which does a great job of making sure this empire-waisted design works even if you have a bit of hip and butt. It won’t work in all poses but it worked a lot better for me than these kinds of designs usually do.

The sleeved top could be combined with the long dress for a Regency-appropriate look, but worn as here with the babydoll skirt it creates a cute little dress instead. There is also another short skirt option for a fitted mini-dress look.

Velvet Chains is available in quite an array of colours to suit most tastes and sells for 400 per colour.

Finally, lets have a closer look at the beautiful Liana pony tail. This is the Dark Copper shade worn together with the Dark Copper hairbase. You can buy hairbases at Amacci that will match any of the hair colours sold at Amacci and these bases will work on any skin; this is Adam n Eve’s Jasmine.

I am quite a fan of glossier hair textures and I am really liking what Amacci has been putting out lately, especially this set of pony tails. In addition to Liana there’s also Lara and Lena which feature more bangs, but they still depend on the hairbases to look their best. There are also some similar hairs out for guys; I’ll be sending Ran over to check those out.

There are more new gowns out from Wunderlich’s and, as noted, more new hairs from Amacci too. Make sure to check them out too. Also, don’t forget to visit the Shoe Fair before it closes to check out, among other things, the sandals from G Field. And ladies, if you drag your man to Amacci to pick up a new hair, do drag over to Adam n Eve to check out the new Tristan skin; sachi’s switched gear from female to male skins for a while.
