A Fair Fantasy

The Fantasy Faire opened its nine sims full of the fantastical, magical and wonderous today. Whether you want to unleash your inner elven princess (or prince) or aim for the stars, there’s bound to be something of interest.

I’ll be starting my coverage of this event with a look at a pair of beautiful bargain gowns from Evie’s Closet, paired with the special RFL wings from Material Squirrel. Do make sure to click the image for a larger version on a darker background, to see the latter in full detail.

Style Notes & Slurls

Skin: Fantasy Ghost Rune by Cupcakes
Hair: Luna Snow by Calico Creations
Clothes: Rowena Light and Rowena Dark by Evie's Closet
Accessories: Peace Wings and Serenity Wings by Material Squirrel

Rowena Light and Rowena Dark is available for L$ 50 each from Evie’s Closet store on the Elvencourt sim. The gowns are beautifully simplistic and just as well-made as Evie’s full-price offerings. They offer an excellent introduction to her clothing and will go beautifully with so many other offerings from the Fantasy Faire.

The RFL wings from Kala Bijoux of Material Squirrel are a pair of amazingly ethereal wings that gave me a bit of a headache when photoing and choosing how to display them. The Serenity Wings to the right actually extend even a little further than I am showing, but it would have made the image a little too zoomed out to show the detail of the wings. And the detail is so exquisit that it needs to be shown. Do make sure to try the demos provided for the wings in the Material Squire store on Wings, Wands and Wonders.

Like all wings from Material Squirrel these beautiful creations come with a HUD that allows you to control position, movement, etc, making them much more than static decorative pieces. Furthermore,  the Wings are also Xcite! compatible. At only L$ 199 a piece and as RFL donation items, they are excellent purchases if you need a bit of wonder in your SL. Kala Bijoux is also offering another new wing at her Fantasy Faire store and she is offering faire-exclusive price reductions on some wings. Make sure to check it out.

I paired the gown and the wings with a simple, elegant updo from Calico Creations and a skin from the brand-new fantasy line at Cupcakes. This line is available in, I believe, nine more or less fantastical tones with a selection of make-ups that definitely are a bit more than your everyday looks. If you are looking for skins to complement your Fantasy Faire purchases, do make sure to check out Cupcakes. They have been continuously improving with each new skin line released and I think this release features a very lovely face that lends itself well to a fantasy look.
