LivejournalThere’s a new skin at Dutch Touch (actually, there’s two, but I am featuring one in this post), and the lovely kEIra is sold with either blond, black or red brows. Since I spend a lot of time in SL as a redhead, I had to check out the latter variation. Well-done red brows are pretty rare, and even rarer is to see them offered in pale as well as darker tones. Iki Ikarus delivers on all accounts.

kEIra comes in four tones—cotton, cream, caramel and olive—and I am featuring two of these (cream and olive). I am particularly fond of Iki’s olive tone, its a nicely medium dark but not tanned-looking tone. Cream is a lovely medium tone, the palest (Cotton) is a very pretty and fairly pale (if not super pale) tone that I think I will have to acquire a few make-ups in as well and Caramel is a rich tone that can represent a nice tan.
The body is soft and feminine, and it is my understanding that it combines hand-drawing with a small amount of photo-sourcing. Its a very nice blend of the two styles and an excellent choice if you like a fairly realistic skin without too much contrast or shine. The breasts are appealingly natural, suited to smaller as well as larger breasts, with nice, dark nipples, and each purchase includes both the regular version shown here and a “push up” version. The bottom, too, is quite nicely rounded.
And, after talking to Iki, I need to make one additional comment: the feet have been updated on kEIra and represent a considerable improvement. SL flippers are SL flippers, of course, but the new foot texture does what it can to make them more presentable. Handy for when you don’t feel like wrestling with prim feet just to wear open shoes.

One of the hallmarks of Dutch Touch skin has to be the beautifully sophisticated faces that Iki creates. When playing with a shape for this skin, I found it could easily cover what I perceived as quite a range in age, always maintaining classical beauty and elegance. kEIra is no exception, its a lovely face with gorgeous brows and lips. And speaking of the lips, I found these lips quite a bit easier to work with across a range of shapes than some of the previous skins from Dutch Touch.
I am showing four of the fifteen make-ups that the skin was released with and I am also showing the freckled variation that is included. And speaking of variations, each purchase also includes a hairbase option. That makes for a total of eight skins for each makeup. You also get add-ons in the form of 2.0 hairbase tattoos, pubic hair and two lash-variants including one with tintable tips. That is an excellent option for red hair, since tinting a whole lash red can be way too strong. In fact, I recently lamented the lack of lashes with a gradient from dark grey to almost white at the tips on Plurk, and this at least is a partial answer.
Of course, while I remembered to wear said lashes for the review, I forgot to tint them. ;P But they look quite lovely anyway.
Red hair was a must, of course, and I wanted something pretty vibrant. I also decided to stay with the red theme in my accessories, wearing the Whiskey and Merlot set from Balderdash. So, if red is your thing too, make sure to check out kEIra at Dutch Touch.
