LivejournalI greatly admire anyone who tackles shoes in SL—they’re quite difficult to swing in a good way, to the point where there’s just four or five shoe designers I ever bother visiting with any regularity. A fresh addition to that small group, however, is 2REAL. These shoes are all over the feeds right now, and quite rightly. They’re exquisitely sculpted and textured by 2REAL Okelli, with a huge variety in terms of looks you can achieve.

In the photo above, I share three different looks, from a very nice, comfortable looks with hues of green, biege, and brown, to something a bit more colorful (the blue and yellow makes me think of the Swedish flag, actually)... and then something just rather more daring.
The HUD is, frankly, fantastic. It presents a great picture of the shoe, which you can click the different parts of to color up different sections. You get fourteen different colors plus five textures (in some parts, the textures will provide a solid color, which is very handy). On top of that, the laces can be set to different states—tied, tucked, or laced—which can change the level of casualness of the shoe. It’s really the texturing that sells the shoe, though; it’s quite exquisite and photoreal. Even the scuffs on the uppers add to the realism—an amazing bit of detail.
Any downsides? It’s a lot of sculpts, and a lot of high quality textures which can take awhile to load in some cases. One feature I’d love to see in future HUDs is some method of storing pattern sets, something that the wonderful, unique watches from chronokit (I’m wearing one of them above) have in their HUD. Pattern sets would allow you to store a few favorite sets quickly and easily without having to clutter your inventory with copies.
But these are minor points to make, because all together this is one of the most impressive entries into the SL shoe market that I’ve seen. 2REAL’s definitely one to keep an eye on.
