Breathless Saturday

Corsets are undoubtedly a weakness of mine in SL. Lately there’s been a few attempts at producing a corset that gets closer to simulating the very cinched-in waist of a tight RL corset by using sculpted prims together with invisiprims. The latest such attempt comes from Silent Sparrow, where hyasynth Tiramisu of late has been adding some interesting prim pieces (and jewelry, even) to her repertoire.

For this look at her prim corset, I’ve paired it with another weakness of mine and another new release; a lovely long and flowing hair with beautiful flexi curls and no bangs from Jolie Femme.

Style Notes & Slurls

Skin: Desire Tone 2 Chestnut by Adam n Eve
Hair: Marianne II Black by Jolie Femme
Clothes: Petit a Petit Underbust Corset Blood by Silent Sparrow, Assorted LoveLace and PixelDolls pieces
Accessories: Samara Black by Adam n Eve

The Petit a Petit underbust corset comes in a selection of 8 rich, gorgeous colours and each colour pack contains three different textures that you use a hud to switch between. The red is particularly luscious, as always when it comes to corsets, but the intensity of brocade and the bold stripes come out well on all the colours. You also get the corset with and without laces, and all this for just L.$ 250. Or, if you want them all, there’s a pack at a 20% discount. Since these corsets are perfect for wearing with other outfits that might be a very good choice.

In this case, I’ve paired it with various pieces from LoveLace and PixelDolls; I don’t believe any of them are still available, except possibly the garters and stockings which may be in the LoveLace subscription-system still.

Of course, it is a prim corset, so fair warning: it probably won’t fit you out of the box if your avatar is a bit fuller-figured. You can resize the corset and the invisiprim separately from each other as it is fully modifiable (as well as resize scripted), and you can even stretch them in just one direction each as they’re one prim a piece. But, if you have more body width and/or body fat than the average SL avatar, it will take some fiddling. So being comfortable with prim editing is highly recommended. Making a specific corset shape, just like you’d make a specific skirt shape for a system skirt, will make it easier.

The hair, as noted, is from Jolie Femme and it is called Marianne II. The fine, wispy curl texture has a very realistic feel and the flow of it is quite lovely. It works particularly well with hair base skins, but included are also system hair bases for skins that do not have such. And at L$ 240 for a pack of around 8 colours its quite a steal, really.
