As mentioned by Ran in his review, the Renaissance collection from Donna Flora and Ardigraf Designs includes outfits for both men and women. I don’t imagine I need to note that I leapt at the chance of reviewing the female outfits. I was familiar with Donna Flora from before, but Patrizia Blessed was new to me as a designer, and a very pleasant surprise.

The first dress is the stunning Francesca, in lush green and gold brocade. The texturing is beautiful, with both colours and patterns definitely capturing the period flair, and the prims are all very well executed. The fit is also very good, though if your avatar is larger than the SL standard, you might find some issues with resizing the beautiful pearl ornaments at the waist as they are part of the skirt. The laces at the back, however, are a separate prim and thus easily adjusted. The pearl ornaments worn on the head are also part of the outfit, and they are a great example of the historical feel of the outfit.

Where Francesca shows a hint of cleavage, Giuliette is much more modest and feels perhaps even more as if it came right out of a painting. The gold brocade is very opulent against the rich wine-red of the gown, and the accessories—not the least the headdress—are certainly both striking and unusual. The headdress was a little fiddly to fit, it seems to be made for a rather small head, so it does need a very close-fitting hair. Overall, though, the shape and default fit of the prims was very good.
Like Ran, I am absolutely thrilled to find such excellent entries into the field of historical clothing, and I am most definitely hoping for more outfits to be released. There is without a doubt a shortage of historical clothing that does not try to be something else, and Squinternet Larnia and Patrizia Blessed seem determined to be offering quality outfits that fill this void.
