Pirate of a Fantastic Sea

A new hair from Wasabi Pills is always a pleasure. Especially when worn alongside a new acquisition from a store that I’ve never purchased anything from before—and that delay was unconscionable, to say the least!

Style Notes & Slurls

Skin: Justin t2 (Goatee) by Adam n Eve
Hair: Akin (Copper) by Wasabi Pills
Eyes: Deep Magic by Adam n Eve
Shape: Justin 2 by myself for Adam n Eve (soon on sale)
Costume: Vanguard Pirate (Red) by BlakOpal
Boots: Pirate Boots (Flared tops) by Illusions

Usually, I start off with the clothing, but honestly, this hair is just so awesome it needs to come first. From the creative mind of MissAllSunday Lemon, Akin is basically a perfectly fantastical hair. Intended for elves, perhaps, I think it works just fine with anything with a fantasy flavor—such as a slightly skeevy, dashing pirate who visits his stylist regularly. ;) The hair is sold in a host of colors, some incredibly colorful, but this particular shade suited the skin from Adam n Eve perfectly. Wasabi Pills always has the neatest hair.

As to the pirate outfit, this is the Vanguard Pirate in red (though it looks more like a copper to my eye) from BlakOpal. Well-known for their pirate costumes, I haven’t really had the opportunity to look at them closely. However, thanks to the Men’s Fashion Show at KMADD Events, they caught my eye with the beautiful variety of costumes they had. The Vanguard Pirate is one of the more ornate, and the unusual color (all their outfits are available in multiple colors, pretty much) attracted my lindens. The outfits aren’t perfect—the flexi skirt feels a little drab and basic to me, and the pant texturing doesn’t quite sell it all—but it’s a very strong entry into this area. Perfect for roleplay in many sorts of settings, from the slightly ahistorical to the quite fantastic.

With the hair and costume both very reasonably priced, they’re certainly worth buying for those who want to expand their fantasy wardrobe a bit.
