Shapes, photography and fashion reviews by Ran Garrigus and Freyja Nemeth. This blog has been replaced by the Otherworldly blog.
LivejournalLately, Ran and myself have started to develop a slight addiction to silent sparrow. We’ve had an interest in hyasynth Tiramisu’s gorgeous Victorian and Gothic offerings for some time, and picked up a few pieces (as well as many very lovely freebies), but it has been the most recent releases that have had us eagerly opening up any notecards from her group to see what is on offer. Today the Beloved suit arrived, available in a male and a female version, and we realized we just had to get ourselves a matching set.

Now, that is what I call black. It is so deep and so dark, and it still manages to have these wonderfully intricate decorations on the shirt and on the coat. Definitely something to stare closely at and if subtle patterns in rich colours are your thing, you just have to take a good look around silent sparrow.
Of course, its not all about patterns. Just look at that lovely collar, the gorgeous cuffs and the tail. So devastatingly elegant.
The laced up shirt, which probably is the best I have seen in SL, deserves a closer look on its own. I think that style of shirt is so sexy and so romantic, and I would happily have a whole pile of them in deep, dark colours. A dark red would be just yummy…
The boots worn with the outfit are the lovely Melisande boots in onyx from Jaywalk. Not quite a pair of cavalier boots, but I’ve yet to run into any such of the same quality that you get in more modern styles of boots.

And here we have my prettier half, looking ever so dashing in the male version of the Beloved suit. One of the best things about silent sparrow is definitely that she caters to the boys as well as the girls. I am just as fond of finding pretty clothes for Ran as I am of finding them for myself, since he does clean up rather nicely. ;)
To make me just a little extra weak-kneed, he decided to add this lovely owl mask from Illusions. Some masks are, I have recently decided, devastatingly sexy.
At first I was going to show the suit with just the jacket and no shirt, but I decided that I’d much rather show the shirt and no jacket and let Ran handle the shirtless version. I think it looks somewhat like he escaped from a romance novel cover.
Except perhaps that the boots are a little too fantastical for that. They’re part of our loot from the Tekeli-li sale the other week. Quite fabulous and of course colour change like all the jewellery.
The Beloved suit is available in black and as with all of hyasynth’s outfits you get quite a few different pieces and all the necessary layer options. If you’d like something similar but with more colour, the recently released Coronis suit might be of interest. It, too, comes in a male and a female version, and the girls can also buy a matching gown for even more mixing options.
