Poses & Pose Tools

Fancy Date (and I’m Late)

I have been utterly scatter-brained of late. This is a post I prepared for some weeks ago…

But, better late than never. The fancy car is a photo prop from Glitterati, setup with a bunch of poses for guys and girls. I had to bring my own guy, though. My skin is PXL’s Gaia, which I will get around to featuring properly, my hair (and Ran’s) is from Amacci and the dress is from .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

The Allure of Sakura

Sakura, the third new skin from Adam n Eve, is available both in the store and at the Skin & Shape Expo. I am showing off this lovely Asiatic skin with the help of some fabulous new props from LostAngel Industries, part of the Water set for their Seven Elements series.

Oh, and these shots are quite processed, so do demo the skin to see how it looks on you.

A Sensuous Wind

I have a weakness for pose props, especially those that are a bit out of the ordinary. Sensual or sexy certainly does not hurt either. The latest release from LostAngel Industries, Winds of Desire, fits that description very well.

My skin is also a brand-new release, Tanisha from Adam n Eve, and my hair is a recent-ish release from Truth.

Oriental Fantasy

Today’s look at the Fantasy Faire has more than a touch of Egypt and the Middle-East in it, with a gown and a jewelry set from Illusions as well as a pair of embroidered slippers from lassitude & ennui.

Edited to add: There is a very cool pattern on the belt that did not show up due to a graphics setting when we took the photos.

Dark Nymph

The week is flying by fast (at least here) and the end of the Fantasy Faire is looming closer. If you haven’t already been there, what are you waiting for? There’s outfits like this lovely set from Evie’s Closet and cool fantasy skins such as this one from Adam n Eve.

A Faire Maiden

The Fantasy Faire is now open and I am continuing my coverage of some of the many goodies available with two great gowns from Naergilien Wunderlich. I am also using a new skin from Adam n Eve (also available at the Fantasy Faire) and a new set of gown poses from LAP that I picked up at the Pose Fair.

A Pair in Fair(e)s

The Pose Fair opened at noon today and the Fantasy Faire (benefitting RFL) is opening at midnight. An excellent combination, because it takes a lot of poses—and inventive ones, at that—to blog Fantasy Faire items.

I am starting my coverage from the Fantasy Faire with skins from Plastik in combination with some new favourite poses from Olive Juice.

Pose Fair: Studio Sidhe

Pose Fair 2011 starts this Friday, April 1st (and no, its no joke ;), and runs until April 15th. I’ve been over at the blogger preview to check out the layout and the participating vendors and it all looks great. Nice, clean layout that is easy to navigate and plenty of exciting pose and animation makers.

I’ll be starting off my coverage with a quartet of couple poses from the always creative Faery Sola of Studio Sidhe. Inspired by the video to Kate Bush’s “Running up that Hill” they are dramatic and artistic, really pushing the boundaries of poses in SL. As far as couple poses go, they are quite different from most everything else. You will also find some really interesting “story” props at Studio Sidhe’s booth; make sure to check out Snow White’s glass coffin and Pandora’s box in particular.

The ads for the poses capture the feel of the video beautifully and I did not feel I could do as well going in that direction. Instead, Ran and I just wanted to play a bit with shadows and moodiness.

Apart from the poses by Studio Sidhe, I am using the lovely Jade skin by Tuli, a brand new hair by Amacci (very pretty hair textures on this style and a lovely sweep over the shoulder) and clothing by elymode. Ran is in a skin from Sacred, hair from Maitreya and a shirt by Zaara.

One Fair Leads to Another

Fashion for Life is soon coming to a close (March 22nd), but for those who love fairs there are many more coming up during spring. One of these is Pose Fair (starting April 1st, I believe) and this post mixes another RFL item from FFL with some Pose Fair pre-releases that were sent out to the Glitterati VIP group.

Pretty as a Picture

The latest set of female poses from Alchemy Immortalis (not the latest release, however; they just released some male poses the other day) was another must-have for me; poses based on Waterhouse paintings. They aren’t poses for your regular modelling shoots, but they are perfect for creating your own scene around. And lovely for shooting gowns!

Burlesque Boudoir

I always get thrilled to find new poses that have a very clear attitude; they may not work for just any shots but they can really enhance the right kind of setup. Alchemy Immortalis, best known for fantastic jewelry and beautiful, magicl props of all kins, have recently moved into making poses and they are definitely focusing on strongly themed set. First out was classic vampire and zombie poses and the very latest release is French Boudoir poses inspired by vintage pinup photograps, which I thought would go rather well with League’s fabulous pret-a-porter item for the Call for Couture event.

Found: Four Angels

Lost Angel has just released the Allure Retro collection of pose props and I just had to have the Music Lounger. I am definitely becoming a bit of a prop addict, not the least since they go so well with other weaknesses of mine, such as skins. So, you’ll be getting a good look at the two new and the two upcoming skin lines from Adam n Eve as I decided to play around on my new lounger wearing only the lovely Karin jewelery from Earthstones.

Back on the Pose Bandwagon

As Ran alluded to in his post, we have been distracted by bunnies these last days. As well as RL, admittedly, but we’ll just blame the bunnies. ;)

I am not done with showing off new pose-acquaintances from the Pose Fair, though, and I’ve also got some brand-new hairs from Truth and some naughty little mini dresses from elymode.

A Touch (of) Soren

I’ve mostly been getting a hold of poses (and, uhm, bunnies—long story) this last week or two, so it was refreshing to get a look at some new clothing for men from Soren Jaakobs. The story behind these is interesting…

Rockin’ GEEZ-er

More from Pose Fair, as I take a look at /Geez/‘s first male pose set for men, and take a close look at some particular items I’ve raided out of Linden Lab’s new starter avatar library…
