Shapes, photography and fashion reviews by Ran Garrigus and Freyja Nemeth. This blog has been replaced by the Otherworldly blog.
LivejournalJewelry Fair has exposed me to a number of terrific jewelry designers (both for men and for women), and one of the one’s that really pushed my buttons is T R I D E N T, whose line of historically-inspired jewelry is just the sort of thing I love best.
The builds that made the theme of this years Jewelry Fair come alive were created by Delora Starbrook of Haven Designs. So, it seemed like a good idea to match this stunning LOGO jewelry with one of my favourites from Delora’s store, the Rhapsody gown. It also stands as a good example of the variety at Haven Designs; its far from just silks. I am also wearing another gorgeous new hair from Analog Dog.
Sometimes, all you need for fall is a pair of boots. Well, almost all, anyway.
You may not think this blog is all about a Jewelry Fair release but that is exactly what it is. Sometimes when Siyu Suen creates jewelry and other accessories, things go well beyond your usual necklaces and earrings.
Named Salacia for the Roman goddess of seawater, this aquatic-inspired full set of jewelry and matching prim outfit is the latest offering from Tekeli-li. Its gorgeously intricate in the detailing, as usual. The hair worn with it is from the latest release by Calico Creations, a lovely medieval-inspired style.
Between the Call for Couture (which opened today) and the Jewelry Fair (which opened a few days ago), I have my hands full of goodies to blog. I am expecting more trips to the Jewelry Fair too… So, one stone will need to take care of at least two birds at a time. Today, its three and they are my chief vices in SL; lingerie from Luxuria, skin from PXL and jewelry from Lassitude & Ennui.
The latest event from Keira Seerose Chic Management is the Call for Couture, a unique event featuring a fabulous lineup of designers that have created a limited edition couture item that will be auctioned off (50% of the benefits will go to the Samaritans charity) and a companion pret-a-porter piece that anyone can buy. The Call for Couture opens at 10 am tomorrow and I think you will all like both what’s on offer and the layout of the vendors along an easy-to-follow path.
My first post on the event features items from Studio Sidhe and Donna Flora.
5th & Oxford recently launched a side brand for high-class lingerie called Luxuria and just a few days ago the Body Politik relaunched as LOGO. This post looks at some of the items released by these two stores and combines some of my favourite weaknesses in Second Life; lingerie, jewelry and skins.
I bought this lovely jewelry set from Earthstones a while ago, but every time I tried to put together an outfit to go with it I ended up being sidetracked by needing to review a dress that had the wrong sort of neckline or a hair that covered it up. But finally I just put the necklace and the earrings on and allowed that to control the rest entirely.
I am the first to admit that mixing and matching isn’t really something I am all that good at. I buy a lot of full outfits rather than separates. But sometimes the mixing and matching happens by itself when new releases kindly just go together. Like these new releases by Sn@tch and SySy and the new jewelry by Lassitude & Ennui that will be their prize during the Witch Hunt and then a regular item at the store.
The firstHair Fair release from Analog Dog that I featured was one of those flowing manes of lovely curls that I love. This one is very different, but equally striking. With that sort of attitude from the hair, Nomine’s Pam corset and the new Milano foot-shoes from Adam n Eve seemed just right.
A final Hair Fair post for the day (its almost midnight here), this time showing a couple of the new hairs from Adam n Eve as well as some lovely new jewelry from Dark Mouse.
Hair Fair is now underway and all four sims are full of eager shoppers, battling fierce lag to spend their lindens. I managed to squeeze in some more shopping this morning before the floodgates opened, so now I have material for a few more posts.
The hair in this post is one of the stand-outs at the fair, but not something for everyday wear. However, it seemed like just the thing to pair with a set of glossy black wings for a look that is rather more succubi than high fashion.
I do love an excuse to get naked and new skins from PXL are a very good excuse indeed. The latest offering for us ladies is Dafne and she’s a pouty, pretty thing. I also ended up spending a hefty chunk of time sorting out a pair of prim feet to wear with the new anklets from Studio Sidhe.
Elysium Eilde’s elymode has just turned 1 year old and the anniversary has been marked by a remodeling of the store as well as several new releases. With their airy, tiered skirts, the Pacifica sets instantly demanded my attention. They also persuaded me to finally get that fat pack of sandals from G Field that I had been eyeing at Shoe Fair for about a week.
