Summer is Here

Almost a week into it, Hair Fair is still going strong. I’ve got another pretty updo to show today, this one from Amacci. Its meant to be used with a hairbase and has no bangs, which of course is just how I like it.

I am also wearing one of the new skins from Curio that were released for the opening of the new Truth District shopping sim where you can find some great creators and a really nice build that should make for great photo opportunities.

Skin & Shape Expo: Lyndsey from Adam n Eve

Another day, another skin from the Skin & Shape Expo. This time it is the lovely Lyndsey from Adam n Eve. I am also taking a closer look at a new jewelry set from Dark Mouse, who recently released a spring collection.

Sara in May

I haven’t found the time yet to do justice to Tuli’s latest release, the lovely Sara, with a proper skin review, but I am at least offering a look at her here. Lingerie is always a good reason to get mostly naked, especially the gorgeously detailed and oh so feminine sets from Insolence. I am also wearing jewelry by Dark Mouse, from this weeks Disco Deals.

Culture Shocked

Culture Shock 2011 is another event from Chic Limited and Keira Seerose, with hundreds of great brands showcased on a single sim, offering items for charity as well as for “regular” sale. The layout is very efficient though it has been very busy. As a result, I haven’t managed to look through everything yet, but I did manage to come away with a new dress from elymode. Jackal Ennui of lassitude & ennui was also kind enough to drop me some review copies, including of a lovely cameo pendant.

My skin is also a fairly new release, though not from Culture Shock; Adam n Eve’s Paige, here in the darkest tone.

Oriental Fantasy

Today’s look at the Fantasy Faire has more than a touch of Egypt and the Middle-East in it, with a gown and a jewelry set from Illusions as well as a pair of embroidered slippers from lassitude & ennui.

Edited to add: There is a very cool pattern on the belt that did not show up due to a graphics setting when we took the photos.

Jade Reborn

Not that long has passed since Tuli relaunched her skin store with several remade lines of skins plus a brand new line, Zoe. Now another “old” face has been given a makeover and joined her sisters in the new store, namely Jade. And what more could you want than a beautiful, versatile face and tons of options?

One Fair Leads to Another

Fashion for Life is soon coming to a close (March 22nd), but for those who love fairs there are many more coming up during spring. One of these is Pose Fair (starting April 1st, I believe) and this post mixes another RFL item from FFL with some Pose Fair pre-releases that were sent out to the Glitterati VIP group.

Fashion for Life:  A Touch of Gothic

Fashion for Life is going strong a few days into the event but the sims are holding up well to the lag. Ran and I even managed to sneak in for a photo; the greyscale look makes for such a fabulous backdrop and I just had to theme the whole look around it (again) when I was going to feature the Orleans ankle boots from Lapointe & Bastchild and the Cora blouse and skirt set from Adam n Eve.

Pretties for Two

Ran has been busy with other things of late, but I finally managed to drag him back to blogging to help me showcase some recent unisex releases from two favourite designers for us both, Silentsparrow and Lassitude & Ennui.

New Things for Boys and Girls

With the New Year, there’s new skins, both for boys and girls. For the boys there is Matt from Adam n Eve which Ran is wearing in this post. For the girls…well, as usual, we’re spoilt for choice. With the reopening of her store, Tuli has released no less than five new skins. I hope to show them all if time permits, but I am starting today with my favourite, dark and lovely Tanya.

Both Ran and I are also showing hair from Amacci where there is a huge sale going on and new unisex necklaces from LOGO. And you can catch at least a glimpse of a pair of sexy new shoes from Adam n Eve on my feet.

On My Feet

Jackal Ennui of Lassitude & Ennui has once again been hard at work to put out some great boots with a historical flair. One pair, Thecla, is already available in a full set of colours whereas the second pair, Assassin, so far is only available in grey and through the Happy Holidays hunt (which also features some other really awesome gifts).

I’ve also got some new releases on my head courtesy of lamb and Analog Dog.

A Taste of Taylor

After a bit of a dryspell, its once again raining skins on us lucky ladies in SL. It has been a while since I’ve indulged in much skin reviewing, but that might change now. That said, I think I will continue to play around with more “fancy” photos rather than straight-up skin shots, though I am still unsure what actually showcases a skin best. But since there are always demos, I figure the point is to temp people into those.

That’s enough of that, however. Time to take a look at Taylor, the latest skin from Adam n Eve. It features a brand new body which I’ve already seen several reviewers express their fondness for and hopefully its the first of many new faces in this line.

The Tail End

For a variety of reasons, blogging has fallen by the wayside in the last weeks. I am hoping it will change, but at the same time I am feeling dissatisfied with how I do it and a bit uninspired by a lot of new releases of late. I am looking for a new approach that fits what I enjoy better, so we’ll see what might come of it.

But for now, here’s a bit of catching up on a lingerie release from Insolence, jewelry from Bliensen + MaiTai and some brand new hair attachments from Amacci.

An Ornament for His Lordship

As you may have noticed, I’ve not managed to post some promised reviews—RL has a way of getting in the way of late! But I’ve dug my way out from under a mountain of things to deliver one review of one of my very favorite items that I saw at Jewelry Fair (which is now wrapped—see you in 2011, Jewelry Fair!) This chain from DECO caught my eye when I first saw it advertised in connection to Jewelry Fair, and creator GutterBlood Spoonhammer (an awesome name!) kindly sent me a review copy.

Ready for Romance

I am not planning an SL wedding anytime soon, unless of course I decide it would be easier on my nerves than planning one in RL. ;) That said, I do like pretty gowns. Always&Ever is a new store focused entirely on bride and bridesmaid dresses and I am showing two of their brand-new dresses together with two of the Jewelry Fair releases from Dark Mouse.
