The Strange Parts

A bit of a quickie today, to cove aisling’s quirky but beautiful creation for the TAG! Gacha. The Morigan set is not an accessory worn on your arms and legs, it is a set of ornate fantasy prosthetics. The detailing is stunning and as usual you are able to customize the colour accents via a HUD. I found that by design or by chance, the height of the legs and the arms matched up perfectly to the alpha cuts for Slink Physique. The legs are the commons and they are available in set metals and colours and the arms are the rares and are fully colourchange.

Ode to Cora

I am still having fun with the various Slink updates in that “ooh, new shiny toy” way. Of the two mesh heads, I usually use Emma since I feel she looks a bit more classical and mature, but I have to say that the revised Becky looks very nice with several of the skins available at Adam n Eve. Here I am using Taliya and the resulting cute but sassy look seemed just right for the Cora top and skirt from elymode for the Whore Couture Fair 4 which opens tomorrow (March 1).

If you wear the Slink Physique mesh body, the Slink Visage mesh heads or any of the Slink hands & feet (male or female) you will want to get yourself over to the Slink mainstore to grab the massive updates released yesterday. There are a lot of exiting changes and additions, such as materials being enabled on all layers for all mesh body parts. You can already head over to Adam n Eve to try out some glittery makeups for the mesh heads - and yes, the Visage update also allows for extra makeup layers, so you can mix and match from different creators.

Chanchal Redux

A little quickie as the end of the year approaches, to draw your attention to the fact that Zaara has released some of her delicious lingerie sets as appliers for Slink Physique and Maitreya’s Lara body. I am wearing the Chanchal set here, which has to be one of my all-time favourite sets from her. Its so barely there and yet so exquisitely detailed. The elegantly designed applier HUD offers five ways of wearing this set; in addition to being able to wear everything, the bra, the panties and the garter + stockings can each be worn on their own or you can wear the bra and panty together.

A Dangerous Mesh

From The Mesh Project at The Shops comes the long-awaited beta of the male mesh avatar that they have been working on for quite awhile, according to all indications, and the fact that The Shops! have been jam-packed since the release a few days ago suggests that they’ve come not a moment too soon. The Mesh Project’s male avatar is, I think, the first really serious attempt at a male avatar aimed at the widest possible market, including support for third-party appliers, complicated alpha setup, and more. Alongside the release of the body was the release of their male mesh head in five different variations, another much sought-after accessory, and no less than seven brand new male skins. For this review, however, I’m using a somewhat older skin, Prince from The Skin Shop (part of the The Shops! collective, who are known to have included the prolific designers behind some of SL’s most well-regarded brands over the years: Naughty, ARMIDI,and Abyss.)

Lounging

I am all made up of Slink parts today - hands, feet, body and even head - since there is a new round of My Slink Obsession in full swing. Adam n Eve has released a new skin, Charli, for this occasion and she is made for the Slink Visage mesh head (but you can also wear her as a regular skin). I am also wearing lingerie in the form of appliers for Slink Physique from Luxuria, though it is a regular in-store release.

This round of Genre is inspired by South Asia so I thought a stop over at Skye Glas for my photos might suit well enough as a background for this dress from Luminary. I am also wearing a new hair from Magika and new shoes from Bushu.

I promised more of a proper skin review for the Serene skin from Imabee and that is what you’ll be getting today, enhanced by a just a small part of the extensive jewellery collection released by aisling for the jewellery fair as well as an example of the massive set of manicures and pedicures recently released by alaskametro.

A Rare Jewel

A lovely gown from We Love Role-Play, a taste of the jewellery fair and a new skin form the basis for this post. In the coming days, I expect to revisit the jewellery fair and do a full review of the skin (and its Physique appliers), but for now I am staying dressed (for once!).

Buccaneer

This all started with lassitude & ennui’s gorgeous Buccaneer Boots for We Love Role-Play. Initially, I found myself at a loss for what to wear with them as my fantasy/history inventory consists of around 95% gowns, but then I remembered the Mirdain outfit by Senzafine. I accessorised with some gacha pieces from Sax Shepherd Designs and stayed in my new skin from Pink Fuel, topping off with a new hair from Truth.

Pink Fuelled

It has been quite some time since I did a proper skin review with a detailed look at a body. There simply haven’t been much in the way of new skins to look at if by new I mean not just a new face on a previously existing body. I did take a few looks at how various favourite skin lines of mine look on Slink’s Physique mesh body but that’s the closest I’ve gotten to full skin reviews in a while. Until now, that is, and even then it isn’t a brand-new body as such, but it is a (largely) new-to-me body. I have been eyeing Pink Fuel for a while, tempted by the many body options supplied, but none of the faces have been quite to my liking. That is, none of the “normal” faces; I really liked the Drow skin which I did feature in an earlier review, albeit without actually going over the body in detail. I’ll be sorting out that oversight in this review where I will be looking at the brand-new group gift from Pink Fuel (I joined the group—which costs L$250—after seeing the preview of this face on Plurk) together with the Slink Physique appliers.

The Enchantment is about to fade away. At the end of this weekend, the Bluebeard round will close and the special prizes that you can get by buying a qualifying product and filling it with stamps from all the participating stores will be gone for good. You can see all the prizes on Enchantment’s website and I am featuring two of them in this post, from the Muses and Frogstar.

The cage prop is also a limited deal from Culprit for this round of the Neighbourhood.

Pirate Princess

Now that Slink has brought out an update to the Physique mesh body, I really needed to get some less dressed photos done. The Tortuga Princess gacha set from aisling for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival turned out to be just what I needed, especially in combination with the Garden Pavilion from Dysfunctional Designs for Collabor88.

Dystopian Carnivale

My roleplay looks are usually fantasy or history inspired, but Eudora 3D’s Carnivale outfit from We Love Role-Play‘s August round called for different surroundings. I thought there was something slightly dark and twisted about the outfit and the Forbidden City sim offered just the right surroundings. With the Carnivale outfit I am wearing a pair of sexy sandals from Bushu shoes.

Eastern Promises

Aisling has created two stunning jewellery sets for the current round of the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. The Sadhana is designed to have an Asian feel, which reminded me that I had a lovely tea house from Convair to blog. It seemed like a good setting for this seductive dancing girl, wearing a stunning array of jewellery and an eye-catching gown from deviousMind.
