Otherworldly

Lady Angharad

Evangeline Miles of Evie’s Closet has returned to creating for Second Life after a bit of a hiatus. Before the advent of mesh, her flexi gowns stood out from the crowd as she always managed to give them an ethereal feel. It is not easy to translate that to mesh, but I think that the textures and colours of her latest release capture some of that quality. There’s almost a feeling of watercolours over the texturing, and that gives the gown a lovely flow that suggests movement.

Casting a Spell

One of Roawenwood’s latest releases is the Einarr Stone Throne, available at a 25% discount at the current round of The Fantasy Collective. This called for Ran being not just behind the camera but also in the scene, since I could hardly be dancing seductively in front of an empty throne. He did not complain too much, however, especially not after seeing the set from Aisling that I was wearing.

Gilded Promises

When it comes to fashion and appearance, Second Life offers the whole spectrum from realism to over-the-top fantasies of all kinds. I tend to play around somewhere towards the more fantastic end of the spectrum, though my preferred look is largely human. But I do enjoy fantastical outfits and accessories, not to mention hairstyles that would make Rapunzel jealous. Such as this impressive braid from Calico for Hairology. Also featured in this post are items from Aisling and The Muses.

Black Diamonds

This month Genre welcomes you to the Burlesque round. With pieces from Senzafine and deviousMind, I decided to stage the scene of a painting in progress. The Kiki masque from Senzafine comes in six colours and makes for a lovely accessory for both lingerie and gowns. And Lola la Riche from deviousMind is a very sexy jewelled harness for Maitreya and Slink Hourglass. The updo is from Calico for Hairology and is called Luna II

Today’s Catch

The Muses have a new release out and that was just the inspiration I needed to put together a look, which also includes one of the Hair Fair releases from Calico. I used one of our older NotSoBad houses as the setting, for a bit of a Middle Eastern feel.

My Lord & My Lady

This one is almost all about We Love Role-Play, which underscores what a great round the current one is. And not just for the girls as there’s definitely some nice things for the guys available as well, as evidenced by Ran’s presence in these photos.

Solitary Evening

Time for another foray into the modern world. I visited the lovely Pont Mirabeau sim and found a nice little spot to sit and contemplate matters in the evening. I mixed new and new-ish releases by the Plastik, Luxuria and Calico for a look that I think suggests I was stood up for a hot date.

Enthroned Again

A throne makes a much better statement than chair, don’t you think? Though, admittedly, they don’t tend to be that comfortable; I’ve tried out a few of the Iron Throne replicas at various events and they could definitely use some padding. Still, something about sitting on a throne—especially when dressed for the occasion—- makes me want to start giving commands. It is probably a good idea that the only thrones I actually own are virtual, like this Iron Queen Throne from Entity for the current round of Genre. That’s also where you can get a hold of the tapestries from Dysfunctionality, which are something I’ve missed in Second Life for a long time.

Ethereal Lounging

The March round of We Love Role-Play opens at 3 pm today. I wont be home by then, so I will have to check it out in a few days, but fortunately I have some shiny things to show you as a sneak peak. Judging by the previews, this round will have a good mix of items, but the jewellery may be particularly outstanding this time as evidenced by these releases from Luminary, Aisling and ieQED. You are also getting a better look at the Rebecca skin which Adam n Eve will be releasing the Skin Fair.

Druidic

The Whimsical event has just opened and it looks like it has a great mix of items, some gachas and some regular purchases. One of the gachas is a very elaborate set from the Plastik. I added on a tattoo from Fallen Gods (from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival) and headed out into the woods.

Sleek Bindings

Today, I’m taking a look at another gacha from Objets d’Amour, namely Roawenwood’s Sleek Bindings. In addition to that, I am showing three We Love Role-Play releases, from Aisling, Calico and Noble Creations.

Goddess in Furs

A new round of the Secret Affair has opened and it is full of wintry goodness and guaranteed to be cruelty-free furs. Among other things, you will find new releases from deviousMind, the Plastik and Noble Creations.

Plastik Elegance

Despite all the landscaping I have done lately, I thought I would start off the new blogging year with a shot with less focus on my surroundings, in order to highlight one of my favourite things in Second Life: jewellery. And as it happened, the Plastik just released two gorgeous new earrings at their mainstore. An excellent excuse for a couple of profile photos, which also illustrate why mesh heads have not been a hit with me; try finding one that has a profile even vaguely in this direction and you will find its pretty much all cute button noses and rather flat faces. So, that’s my mini-rant for the new year, but now onto the goodies!

Secret Affairs

I am still wandering about in our new build, this time in the dark dungeons below the upper levels. They are a little bare still as we search for suitable furnishings, but I am already feeling at home there. This post, however, is about a striking new updo hair from Calico for the Secret Affair as well as another lovely piece of jewellery from Aisling for We Love Role-Play.

Apple Harvest

We’ve now left a sunny and quite lovely October behind for a November which looks a lot more like a typical Swedish late autumn, which means a good deal of rain. In Second Life, however, you can still enjoy glorious autumn days in an apple orchard, picking fruits to be turned into home-made apple cider. This set comes courtesy of Jian for the Love to Decorate event. I am also wearing some new releases from alaskametro and Calico.
