Follow Me

A touch of whimsy with this setup from Noble Creations, the Muses and Wasabi, inspired by the fact that the hairstyle is from the current round of Enchantment and its Alice in Wonderland-theme. The Rusty Gate (available with green leaves or rotten leaves) and the low wall make for a beautiful entrance into the enchanted woods, separating them from the mundane outside.

Victorian Belle

I really like the field of tulips from Little Branch for the Victoriana round of Genre, so today I changed around the season on one of my sky landscapes and planted some tulips around the ballet academy build from Nomad. I think it turned out to be a rather charming backdrop for the gown from Anachron, also from Genre.

Victoriana

A new round of Genre is opening today at noon SL time. The theme for this round is Victoriana and in my first post as a Genre blogger I hope to give you a little taste of what you can expect. As you may remember, Genre changed its format last round, moving to a permanent build (rather than a new one for each round) and doing away with the L$100 max price. A discount is still offered, but this gives designers more flexibility in what they can make for the event.

Gladiatrix

For this round of We Love Role-Play, lassitude & ennui has created what can only be described as a classic female sword & sorcery outfit. My first thought was to shoot these pictures at Kingdom of Sand, which has been my go-to place for desert environments for years…only to learn that it disappeared last year! Fortunately, I came across the Tajukistan Tahari sim and its gladiatorial arena was just what I needed. Still, Kingdom of Sand will be greatly missed as a photo location and I think I will need to make another effort to turn our own little desert corner into something more usable. Alas, my landscaping skills are limited. But, enough about that!

Fantasy Faire: Lady of the Twilight

The sim of Dangarnon (built by Death Row Designs) portrays a fallen, darkness-claimed version of one of last years sims, the kingdom of Andolys. I dared to venture out into this dark city and found a little corner of reminders of its original glory.

Fantasy Faire: Sword-Dancer of the Portals

For my second visit to the Fantasy Faire, I went to the Fairelands Junction, built by Balderdash and sponsored by Roawenwood. While these two stores can be found on the sim, it is not a regular shopping sim, but instead it features portals to the other sims of the Fairelands. However, the beautiful build by Balderash certainly deserves to be shown off and if you like the gorgeous trees and flowers, these can be found in the Balderdash shop on the sim.

Skin Fair: Kirsten by Adam n Eve

Mesh heads are generally Not My Thing. Or rather, I don’t mind playing dress-up now and then, so I sort a mesh head into the same category as elf ears or a drow skin; they can be cool to create a look around, but they’re not what I like to wear on a regular basis. However, as a result of nagging sachi Vixen to make new skins for Adam n Eve now and then, I’ve found myself with the Jessica head from Catwa. Because I am not very familiar with mesh heads (though I do have the Slink heads as well), I won’t be offering an in-depth review of the head, just showing how it can look with the Kirsten applier which is available at the Skin Fair as well as in the Adam n Eve mainstore. What I will look more closely at, however, is a new eye gadget from Damien Fate.

Skin Fair: Adam n Eve

Its all about fairs today, from Skin Fair to Pose Fair, both which are now open. From the former we have one of Adam n Eve‘s new skins as well as a tattoo from Luxuria and from the latter a lovely pose by Black Tulip.

The Bride of Hades

The theme for the new round of Genre is Underworld and I have to say this is my favourite round in a while with some really nice items available. My first post is entirely focused on a new-to-me brand called Anachron. They have two releases out for genre, a hair called Veiled Promise with an attached veil and a robe called Queen Persephone. I love the mesh work on these pieces (draped fabric everywhere!) and I love the choice of colours and patterns which result in a really Grecian feel. The texturing sometimes feels like it could have a little more structure, but overall I am quite thrilled with these pieces. At L$99 per piece, they are a steal and a great introduction to this brand.

Visiting Paradise

With this kind of outfit, my go-to kind of location has been a desert-y environment. But I’ve taken a lot of shots at Kingdom of Sand and at our own little desert, so I went looking for something else and came across Fruit Islands Tropical Rainforest. Since the dress by Senzafine is for the Conquest, a Game of Thrones-inspired event, lets just say my character is visiting the Summer Isles and marvelling at the local flora and fauna. The hair I am wearing is by Wasabi Pills for the same event.

Winter Light

Time for a few more pieces from World Goth Fair, this time courtesy of Senzafine, Bliensen + MaiTai and Black Tulip. Paired with these are items by Calico and the Plastik.

In Darkness and Light

If you’re not already all in black, its time to let your inner goth out to play because today the World Goth Fair by Cursed Events opens. The event sports an amazing, very appropriate build and an excellent selection of designers. In this post, I am giving just a little taste of that, combined with pieces from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, We Love Role-Play, The Secret Affair and the Dark Style Fair.
