Alchemy Returned

Alchemy Immortalis are back. While their beautiful sims have not returned with them, they have opened up an in-world shop once again, and already there is a huge new release available—a massive collection of Art Deco inspired rings. There are few things as hard as rings to do justice in a photo, so please make sure to take a look at the rings in their store where they have been rezzed out and can be viewed in amazing, intricate detail. What I will try to do in this post, however, is to tell you a bit about them (as well as the other items featured in these shots).

Stitched in Time

After a long period of not finding much of interest to buy, I was reminded that Stitched has a number of excellent outfits for men, aimed at the roleplay market. And so I dived in with one of their latest releases, Aidyn.

Portraits of Ice and Fire: Part One

I’ve been a very absent blogger these last two weeks, apologies! It has been quite a hectic month and somewhere along the line, my photo ideas seem to have been misplaced. But for the last week or so, I’ve been toying with a themed series of shots and after a few false starts (trying to find appropriate prefabs proved to be a bust) I think I know how to do them. The basic idea? Portraits of various characters that appear in The World of Ice and Fire, the book that Ran and I released together with George R.R. Martin exactly a month ago.

So, this is the first such portrait, showing Rhaenyra Targaryen, one of the two siblings who fought over the Iron Throne in the Dance of the Dragons. This portrait is showing her towards the end of her life, not long before she will be devoured by her half-brother’s dragon, Sunfyre. She wears a rich, but more modest gown and several pregnancies has left her plumper than in her youth.

Muse-ings

Alchemy Immortalis is selling off four of their five sims, keeping only their mainstore to focus on creating more lovely products instead of maining their rental sims. While the prospect of more beautiful creations from Alchemy and Immortalis Cyannis makes me a little giddy, I will be very sad to see some of the most atmospheric sims on Second Life disappear, so of course I had to take some more photos at Empress and Hierophant while the chance still exists. I dressed up in one of the new mixed mesh gowns from the Muses, added jewellery from Alchemy Immortalis and a lovely new updo from Amacci.
