November is definitely here, with lots of rain, biting winds and grey days giving over to dark nights. A little virtual heat in the form of the latest skin from PXL, the lovely July, is most welcome. Out of the new skins launched at the Skin Fair this year, she’s probably my favourite.

My first PXL skin was Kim, the release prior to July. I was very impressed with Kim compared to the earlier PXL skins, and even so July has managed to impress me with even more improvements. I had some quibbles with the body shading on Kim, as I found the contrast a little too low when compared to the face, and I ended up speaking to Hart Larsson about this following my review on Kim. When I go my first sneak peek of July some time ago, I was delighted to see how he had progressed with her. The face and body feel perfectly matched now, and even so the body shading remains softly toned and feminine, without too much muscle or any hint of oily shine. I would definitely call this a very good body, with bonus points for natural-looking breasts (this is the natural cleavage, and there’s also push-up cleavage included) and a fine bottom.
July is currently available in the three lighter shades seen to the left—natural, sunkissed and light tan—and two more shades—tan and dark—will be released quite soon. I am particularly fond of the darker tones, which are rich without being too saturated, though the lighter ones look quite natural too. I would not have minded seeing a very pale tone, but Hart has mentioned the possibility of more specialty or fantasy skins such as the night elf version of Kim released some weeks ago.

As with the body, July’s face builds upon Kim’s face. On this skin Kim’s already refined face has been taken to the next level, and her great cheekbones have become even better. I wouldn’t call it a cute or girly face, but rather its sexy and womanly. In the darker tones, I also think it has a nicely exotic feel, but it is quite shape friendly and can be used to create a variety of looks.
The makeup selection consists of five different eyes and eight different lips, for a total of 32 combinations. The makeups are well executed, but a more varied selection would have been nice. Once again, it is something that Hart apparently has planned, so that is something to look forward to. In addition to the two cleavage options included with each makeup, you also get a regular and a freckled face as well as three different eyebrow colours.
The natural, sunkissed and light tan versions of July are as noted already available in the PXL main store as well as at the Skin Fair, with the tan and dark versions to follow soon. A single skin sells for L$ 1000, and they are sold from Hart’s new vendor system that allows you to put together your own fatpacks, which are sold at a 20% discount.
