I love brocades. There’s something so sumptuous about them, and its one of those things you don’t often get a chance to wear in RL. So, I indulge in SL, and the latest release from Haven Designs presents an excellent opportunity for this. And since it put me in a mood for patterns, I combined it with a henna tattoo from Huz Tats.
Skin: Siren Tone 3 Cherry by Adam n Eve
Hair: Embrace Black by Analog Dog
Clothes: Rhapsody Red by Haven Designs
Accessories: Henna Secret Tattoos by Huz Tats, Vanisri Necklace and Anaya Earrings by Zaara
Poses: Reel Expression
Rhapsody is a strapless gown with a brocade details on the bodice, at the waist and at the hem of the skirt. I really like how Delora has textured this dress; the brocade is very well-done and the shading as well. The construction of the skirt, with the two sculptie pieces draping about the waist, works very nicely when you need to size the skirt up. You can pull the skirt out a bit in size, and then enlarge the draping separately. Very handy and it looks pretty, too.
There are, of course, several other rich colours available, but red is always a weakness of mine. Especially since I have been stuck in the Siren skin from Adam n Eve lately, and that’s excellent for wearing stronger colours with. It is also a lovely base for the henna tattoo from Huz Tats. I had intended to wear the latest release, but got myself confused. Oops, guess I have an excuse to get mostly naked and show that one off as well.
Haven Designs has continually been branching out into more and more styles of clothing, and while you will still find a lot of lovely silks and other naughty looks in the store, there are some really lovely gowns as well, often in rich, decadent jewel-tones.
