I’ve had a craving for new skins lately, but I haven’t found all that many that have felt right for me. In particular, I am not finding a lot of faces with real character as well as beauty. I have also, to indulge briefly in some grumbling, encountered far too many demos with excessive demo markings. Too much on the face can really change the expression of a skin, and too much on the body makes it almost impossible to judge the quality of the texturing and how well the seams are handled.
So, after demoing several skins just this week, I decided to stop being indecisive and went to the Abyss (the way they do demo markings is a good example of doing it right) once more to pick up their latest female skin, Abbie Cole. After all, it was going to happen sooner or later anyway, since I’ve got a serious weakness for their current line of female skins. And for the male skins too, just not on me.
Skin: Abbie Cole Light Vixen by The Abyss
Hair: Green Copper by Maitreya
Poses: Reel Expression
Like the two previous skins from the Abyss that I have featured, Kass Calypto and Lila LaRue, Abbie Cole definitely has a very distinct character of her own. The ad portrayed her as a bit of a naughty schoolgirl, the kind certain fantasies might place in a library wearing glasses, a cute dress and some distinctly risque lingerie underneath it.
However, for skin reviews, I like to just bare it all. The glasses might have stayed on, I suppose, but I am afraid I suffered through far too much teasing for my own glasses in RL to ever be able to see them as sexy on anyone. So, you’re getting Abbie au naturel.
The body is more or less the same as on the other skins, which means I think it is one of the best bodies in SL right now. I love both the texturing and the shading, and I think its natural, feminine and sexy. Abbie also has the added bonus of her subtle freckling not being confined to the face; you’ll also find freckles on her chest and her arms. The tone shown here is the light, and there’s also a tan tone which is also very nice.
The selection of makeups is relatively limited, with mainly fairly subtle and girlish looks, but that is just what suits this face. I went for the Vixen makeup, which had the most lip colour. I think this face is quite shape friendly, though I should perhaps have gone for slightly larger lips than I did. But I do like that they work very nicely without being huge. The red brows are a big plus.
Abbie Cole comes with and without head hair, and with and without pubic hair. There’s also a pair of lashes included, though I am not wearing those as I had some issues fitting those to my shape. They looked very pretty, however.
