Had enough of skin reviews for a while? Well, today my pixels get covered up by two lovely dresses from different eras, both perfect for bringing out the lady in you. One is a gorgeous creation by Tabitha Ninetails of the Laughing Academy and the other is by Dream Resistance of Fantasia, who just keeps making things I have to have.
The gowns have been paired with skin and hair from Adam n Eve, and with the Laughing Academy gown I am also wearing the latest release from Alchemy Immortalis.
Skin: Beauty t1 Evergreen by Adam n Eve
Hair: Cristina Titian by Adam n Eve
Clothes: Emily Ann Edwardian Gown & Slippers by Laughing Academy
Accessories: Ami Amet Deli Pencet Ivy Choker & Vine Earrings by Alchemy Immortalis
The Emily Ann Edwardian Gown (which also includes matching slippers, but I am too short for those to show) features a great brocade pattern (I love the colours that go into it) and a lovely shape created by the use of sculpties for the shoulder bows as well as for the rosette and swag on the skirt. The texturing on the sculpties really give the sense of a rich, heavy fabric. Its a very elegant, ladylike gown.
Around my neck is the stunning Ivy Choker by Alchemy Immortalis, which is a somewhat more modern-looking piece for their “Ami Amet Deli Pencet” collection. It goes perfectly with the Vine Earrings, and features the same shadow prims to give the sense that the necklace is casting a shadow on you. Like the other necklace in the series, it also features a flexi piece hanging down in the back, which looks great with a gown with a low back.
The hair worn here is one of sachi Vixen’s fabulous new updoes. Cristina was made for the Hair Fair, but although it is running a few days extra, the hair can now be found in Adam n Eve’s new hair shop. This pale red is a perfect match for Beauty’s eyebrows, and I love how it emphasizes the gorgeous cheekbones to have the hair pulled away like this.
Skin: Beauty t1 Wild Rose by Adam n Eve
Hair: Titania Light Strawberry by Adam n Eve
Clothes: Riel Red by Fantasia
In addition to creating a variety of outfits for Gorean roleplay, Dream Resistance of Fantasia also makes clothes suitable for other kinds of roleplay or for those who just enjoy historical or fantasy garb. Riel, her latest release, is a lovely medieval-inspired gown. Many medieval gowns were made up of an undergown and an overgown, often in contrasting colours, and Riel captures this look quite well. This is not a usual colour-combination for me, as I tend to avoid blues, but it really went very well with this red. Both colours are sumptous and lovely, with great patterning when you look closely, and I am not sure if I am sad or relieved that there wasn’t a fatpack because I took a fancy to several other of the colour-combinations too.
My skin is once again the lovely Beauty, and I am wearing another of sachi’s new hairs, the floor-length (well, on me, anyway) Titania. The Riel gown, especially when worn with the collar as here, certainly has an elven flair as well, and with this hair it is definitely a look fit for a fairy queen.
If a gown infused with a sense of history or fantasy is your thing, you should definitely check out the Laughing Academy and Fantasia, for two different takes on clothing for women who like to leave the modern world behind now and then. And for the perfect accessories, do make sure to visit Alchemy Immortalis.
