This Tuesday Annyka Bekkers of Blowpop finally released her four new skinlines. Three of them are quite thoroughly reworked versions of the Infinity skins Elizabeth, Ava and Carmen, whereas the fourth, Maya, is a brand-new release. Over the next week or so (if all goes according to plans) I will be showing off each of the four lines, and I am starting today with Maya. With her, I am showing one of Adam n Eve’s Hair Fair offerings, Cristina.

Maya is the darkest of the four skin lines, and she comes in four lovely tones, from a light but warm brown to a rich, dark hue. Compared to the Infinity skins, the shading on Maya’s body (and face) is softer, but even so there’s no shortage of details. While handpainted rather than photosourced, Annyka’s skins feature a lot more contrast and skin texture than many other drawn skins, and even put next to a photosourced skin they do not in any way look flat.
The very natural-looking breast shading is one of my favourite details, but there really isn’t anything on these bodies that I don’t like. They look realistic, natural and feminine. The skin does not come with pubic hair, but you do get it included on an
underwear layer.

Maya’s face is made to suit her skin tone, this is not just a dark tone of a Caucasian skin, and it is a lovely, soft-featured face. Her lips are particularly gorgeous (Annyka really does some of the best lips) and I think the shading on the face is quite versatile and ought to suit a range of shapes. If there’s anything about the face I might have a small quibble with it is the eyebrows, which are a little too thin and pale for my tastes.
The initial release of Maya consists of 6 makeups, where each makeup purchase comes with two variations, one with a lighter and one with a darker lip. I think all the makeups are quite lovely, and the option for two lipsticks with each eyeshadow is great. For any future releases, I would love to see some more variety in cheek shading/blush, as there are some lovely examples of such in Annyka’s Mellie3 and Tuesday ranges.
Maya and her lovely companions are available at Blowpop for L$ 900 per makeup or L$ 3600 for all six (or rather, twelve) makeups within a skinline. If a darker skin is what you have been looking for, make sure to grab some demos.
