Robed in De Fleur

De Fleur is a store that I used to visit quite regularly, but then the creator Natalia Basiat took a bit of an hiatus from creating things in SL and it fell off my radar a bit. But as I had added the blog to my RSS-feed, when new releases started appearing again they didn’t go unnoticed. However, while I can never really have too many gowns—especially fantasy or historical gowns—these days it does take something a little more unusual to make me run over to a store right off. Like today’s release.

Style Notes & Slurls

Skin: Candace Coconut Spring Reign by Genesis
Hair: Nikhita Raven by Truth
Clothes: Byzantine Lady Muted Moods by DeFleur
Poses: LAP

Byzantine Lady is a simplistic but elegant design. While I would have liked to see some more shading and a little more texturing on the clothing layers, the outfit is well put together and I particularly like the gold trim and the sculpted collar. As with all empire-waisted dresses, its not easy to find poses and stands that don’t break through the prims, but that is just how it is.

The colours seen here are all part of the Muted Moods pack, which includes all three gowns in two versions each for the excellent price of L$200. There is also another pack of three gowns featuring brighter colours.

The skin worn is Candace from Genesis, in a makeup from the initial set of eight makeups. A little bird (or, well, a little Plurk) has revealed that eight more makeups inspired by Bollywood makeups will be released tomorrow, and after seeing a sneak preview (also on Plurk) I am definitely looking forward to them.

If you are looking for affordable gowns for roleplay, or for just indulging in a bit of a fairy tale in SL, do take a look at De Fleur. The store also offers some interesting accessories, such as a medieval English headdress.
