It wasn’t that long ago that Ryker Beck of Genesis released her first skin, Eden, and now she already has her second skin in the store. Without further ado, meet Candace.

Candace is available in four tones, and here I am showing the darkest, Coconut. It is described as a dark tan. The other tones are Apple, Apricot and Peach, with Peach being another tan and Apple and Apricot being pale and neutral. The paler tones tend towards a pink undertone, whereas the darker have a bit more of a golden feel.
Candace is a very smooth skin, with some points of fairly strong highlighting, and a body that is softly toned rather than overtly muscular. I don’t feel the end result of the highlighting is oily, though it does look very much like a summery skin that I expect to be taking some swimwear photos in. Given the smoothness of the skin, and the relatively subtle shading in many places, I think it works well on a lot of different body types. Looking at specifics, the breast shading, always an area of interest to me, works quite well with a breast shape intended towards natural rather than very high and firm (but I imagine it can support this too), and the bottom shading gives a rather luscious behind.
I couldn’t help but to notice that the skin also features a very nicely done genital area. Its a small space to work with, and Ryker Beck has managed a three-dimensional look that I found pretty impressive. Its probably not a critical feature for most skin buyers, but its definitely well done. The skin comes with no pubic hair, btw, but does include a landing strip on clothing layers.
There are some points on the skin that could be improved, mainly the feet. The ankle seam has not been completely eradicated, and on the outside of the feet the texture feels a bit rougher in one spot. Any other quibbles I might have would have to be put down to personal preferences for the most part.

Of course, for most people, the face and the makeups seem to be the most important points to consider when buying a new skin, so lets spend some time looking closely at Candace’s face.
She is a rather different girl from Eden, but with plenty of character of her own. Eden I would describe as “charming” whereas Candace is “glamorous”. The detailing on the cheek no doubt has much to do with that, and the faint lines at the nose also suggest a slightly more mature face. This is definitely a woman and not a girl. Her eyebrows, btw, are tintable, and I think they are very well done. I am also a big fan of her lips, which seem to support both thinner and fuller lips quite well.
I decided to show off four makeups, each one on a different tone. For the release, each tone comes in 8 makeups, and Ryker Beck plans to release a few more themed sets of 8 makeups later on. One of these is planned to have Middle Eastern-inspired makeups, and I am already very much looking forward to that one. Given this, I decided to make the shape for Candace (tentatively named “Ellaria”, and probably one of the shapes Ran and I will eventually have for sale) a bit exotic, and I must say I am very pleased with how she looks in the darkest tone in particular.
If you head over to grab some demos at the Genesis store, don’t forget about the sale on the four retiring Eden skin tones. And while you are there, check out some of the marvellous pieces of jewellery available at the store.
