A Sexy Sale at Solange

Last year, I won a gift card from Solange in a Flickr contest, and since I am a thrifty sort (or rather, an indecisive sort) I have been hanging on to it until now, waiting for just the right outfit to come along. As it happened, something else came along: a 50% off sale on all silks and fantasy outfits. Which, of course, made a lot of outfits into just the right outfit. So, I sent off Ran to do my window shopping for me, and with some help from him I finally managed to decide on three outfits for myself and one for him, for being such a good sport.

Poses: IZUMIYA and LAP

Of course, with the shopping out of the way, we had to put together a little photo showing off the fruits of our hard labour. Since I wanted to show off three distinct looks, we decided that we’d both be in Adam n Eve skins; he in one of the brand new male skins (Tristan) and me in the three most recent female skins (Desire, Mei Li and Bliss). I also decided to stick to a single creator for all my hair needs for this post, to showcase some recent releases from House of Heart: Bailey, Reese and Spring.

Ran’s chosen outfit from Solange (the only one I’d ever get him into from the silk and fantasy section, as he does not wear male silks, and I would love it if Solange made some more things like this) is the very dashing Sultan outfit, which is made to match my very favourite Solange piece, the Kadin. Its available in several colours (of which the Black and Red are my favourites) and with either Silver or Gold accents. The outfit is here worn without the included shirt (because I insisted), and without the cloak.

The first of my three choices is actually not on sale as it is made up of two of the newest releases; the Highland Hip Banger and Highland Wrap. There is also a matching silk-style outfit, but my funds didn’t stretch that far this time. This is a really fun set with lots of attitude, and I think the Desire skin is a perfect match for it.

My second choice is the Devotion silk in Black. Ran really liked the striped fabric, and I quite like the assymterical decorations at the waist and at the shoulder. This set comes with a lot of pieces, including matching jewellery, though some of it (like the belly ring) disappeared into my body and I forgot to pull it out. Even my petite shapes (like the one I am using for the lovely Mei Li skin) are a little too padded by SL standards for prims to fit without a fuss.

Finally we have the very elaborate Heat 2.0 silk, shown here with the Bliss skin. There are even more pieces in this set than in the Devotion set, and all the metal trim is scripted so you can change between different metal options. You also get several choices for different flexi attachments, so that many different looks are possible. Both Devotion and Heat 2.0 are relatively pricey given the many options included, so they are definitely something to look at during the sale if you’ve felt that they are normally out of your budget range.

Whether or not you have to shop for yourself or have a well-trained man to send, you should definitely check out Solange’s sale before it ends in two days. There are some really great outfits to be found there. I think Solange produces some really great textures and her primwork is also very nice, and if silks aren’t your thing she also has a section of regular clothes. The only thing I personally don’t quite like is that the newer items use resize scripts instead of being mod, which I normally avoid entirely. But since silks usually only need resizing and no individual prim adjusting, its not quite so bad (though any scripting does increase the risk of being “ghosted”), and I didn’t let it get in the way of taking advantage of this excellent sale.
