January was not a good month for SL blogging on my part (though I did write plenty about dog shows and the merits of fantasy elsewhere on the site), but now it is definitely time to crawl out from under this particular rock. Love Lace (which as far as I understand it is a collaboration between PixelDolls and Launa Fauna) has announced the “Year of the Corset” and are releasing no less than fourteen stunning pieces from the start of February and two weeks onwards. So far, the first three are out (another will of course be showing up later today), and two of them have found a home in my inventory.
I am also taking the opportunity to show off the two newest photoreal skins from Adam n Eve.

The first corset to be released was Bianca, which I believe will be the only underbust piece in the collection. In the picture to the left, it is worn with the included chemise as well as the corset thong that was sent out as a group gift. I would actually have liked to see some more matching underwear (or at least more colours, like the chemise which is available in black, ivory, pink and white), but given the size of the collection it might be hard to provide a match for all the corsets without making a separate piece for each. The corsets can, of course, be worn with skirts or pants as well, and it is provided on all layers to make this easier.
Bianca comes in four colours, with Blue and Purple being available as well in addition to the Red and Gray featured here. A single corset is L$ 140 and the packs are L$ 420. The price is a steal and the quality is excellent, just as it always is with items from PixelDolls. I really love the textures and the colours on their items, and these corsets are no exception.
The gorgeous dark skin is the new Desire skin from Adam n Eve, here shown in the second darkest of the four available tones. Desire is a dedicated black skin, as opposed to a dark tone of caucasian skin, and I think it looks pretty fabulous. The hair is from Truth and the jewellery from Mad About.

Corset number three was the stunning Courtesan, which to me really captures the texture and colour of a period gown. Like Bianca, it comes with the chemise in four colours, allowing you to choose between a bit of a lace edge on top or letting just a hint of nipple show up. I know what I like ... ;) I wasn’t really going to get the pack of this one, but I couldn’t help myself. The pricing is the same as for the Bianca, and the colours available are Red and Blue (shown here) and Antique and Purple.
Given the feel of the corset, I had to pair it with a hair from Curl up and Dye (sadly, I believe all newer styles are no mod except for via the resize script, otherwise its a great place for amazing updoes) and the stunning Marie Antoinette jewellery from Wunderlich’s. The skin is the second of the new releases from Adam n Eve, Bliss. For a photoreal skin, I have found Bliss’s face very versatile, it looks fabulous on a number of my shapes, and the body is pretty amazing (especially the butt ;).
I, for one, will be making regular visits to PixelDolls over the next two weeks to check out all the upcoming corsets. I already have several more picked out from the preview that was sent out, and it will be a slightly frustrating wait as I would really like to get my greedy little mitts on them right now. And if corsets aren’t your thing, you should still be checking out PixelDolls. L$ 50 sales are still going on in Dresses, Separates, Outfits and Lingerie, and there are some amazing pieces in there. Now, if I could only have a bunch of the clothes from PixelDolls in RL too…
