My Muse is an Angel

Okay, so I lied a little. There were no pretty pictures in the previous post, that’s true, but they’re coming here instead. You see, Evangeline Miles of Evie’s Closet put out a new gown last night. I have kept an eye on her store for a while (of course I would, its fantasy gowns after all), and I have seen the quality climb steadily upwards. Up until now, however, nothing had really grabbed me as an immediate must-have (though I do have several lovely group gifts in my inventory), at least not in the way that the new Muse gown did.

The only problem was the colours, I am not really a pastel girl. I did consider the white, very Grecian after all (or rather, what we think is Grecian based on all those statues that have lost their original colour…), but then I saw the second notice, about a limited release ... in red and black. I was very disappointed when I teleported over and found it sold out already, but fortunately that was only the first batch of 50. A second batch of 50 was released a few hours later, and off I went to pick it up (I didn’t even change out of the lingerie I was wearing while modelling the new Angel skin at Adam n Eve ;P).

The colour of this gown is really striking (and, fortunately for me, a perfect match for the Wicked Red makeup), and the layering of black and red semi-transparent flexi prims creates a lovely effect. Evie really knows how to create flexi gowns with great movement that seems very well with the type of fabric that she is seeking to simulate.

Her shading and texturing has also reached very high standards by now.  On some of the earlier gowns I think there was occasionally a lack of shading in favour of textures and/or patterns, but the Muse gown combines these elements quite well and the shading does a good job of creating the appearance of actual fabric. There is a little blurring/bleeding along the shoulder straps, but it is a difficult area and not really something I am concerned about.

Here’s a closer look at the detailing on the bodice of the dress. I particularly like the prim band right beneath the breasts, and the detail of the little prim straps connecting up the shoulder straps.

And, of course, a closer look at the gorgeous face of the new Angel skin from Adam n Eve. This shape is normally a redhead, but as soon as I got this skin on in the darkest tone and with this fabulous makeup, I had to reach for a black hair. For the last few days, I have been running around a lot on Calico’s Emily (the best perfect hair in SL), but for this picture it just had to Calico’s Helen instead (Helen I, to be precise), and I compromised on the red and black thing. ;)

The limited edition of the Muse gown also included a limited edition of the matching lingerie set, and of course I had to show that off too. Babydoll lingerie is not my favourite (or Ran’s, which also matters), but this set is sexy. The fact that it is partially sheer certainly does not hurt. ;)

The shoes, btw, can currently be found in Adam n Eve’s Bargain Basement, at a mere L$ 99.

The limited edition Muse gown sells for L$ 750 (the regular gown is L$ 500 and the lingerie, I believe, L$ 200). The second batch has already sold out as well, but there will be a third batch of another 50 gowns sometime today.  If you want to get a hold of one, I suggest joining the Evie’s Closet group and waiting for the announcement to be sent out. In the meantime, why not hop over to Adam n Eve and check out a demo of Angel?
