These last weeks I’ve been lucky enough to win some amazing photo contests with incredibly generous prizes from the content creators involved. First there was the Jewelry Exposition contest, where this photo took the grand prize. The there was Fleur‘s contest celebrating the retiring Vivant makeups. Well, technically, the actual win happened a while ago, but it was this week that the prize—makeups from the new Allure skin line—were delivered. And as if that wasn’t enough, my partner Ran Garrigus shared first prize in their contest to name the new line, and since he doesn’t usually wear a female skin (only now and then—one of his avatars look divine in Blowpop’s Mellie3 ;) the Allure makeups that were the prize for this contest were passed to me instead.
The Allure skin line will be the focus of this post, together with yet another fabulous contest prize, the entire line of new lingerie from Ornamental Life‘s new release. Fleur’s Allure will be making its début tomorrow at noon and Ornament Life’s lingerie be released today in conjunction with a fashion show at noon at Salina Beach which will be followed by the opening of Shir Dryke’s new satellite store, Ornamental Boudoir.
The launch of Fleur’s Vivant line is one of the first events I recall hearing about—and cursing myself for missing—after I joined SL last summer. The Allure launch promises to be quite an event as well, with a total of 18 new makeups being released. The line includes a gorgeous variety of faces, and of course a great body.
In comparison to Vivant, Allure is what Roslin Petion and CJ Carnot call a true hybrid skin, a mixture of photosourcing and handdrawing. Like Vivant, it features mod brows and three pubic hair options on the panty layer, which greatly adds to its versatility. There are six skin tones and like with the Vivant skins each makeup is generally offered in three variations. Singles are priced at L$ 1200 and 3-packs for L$ 3000.
The tone shown here is the Truffle tone, which is as gorgeous as the name implies. This is a sensually soft but still detailed skin, which I think looks great both on slender and full shapes. The breast shading is seductive, and the nipples of a good size and colour. The feet are interesting to me; it looks as if they decided not to push the toes all the way out, allowing for a more distinct toe-shape to be created. I think it works pretty well.
The back further shows the combination of softness and detailing in this skin. The spine and shoulder blades are nicely shaded, and the bottom is most definitely nice and rounded (Ran approves too, which is important since his prize for winning the Allure naming contest is that he gets to see me naked in the skins he won ;). The dimples are quite adorable. I am also liking the creasing at the back of the knees, such touches are important to make the skin appear realistic even if it is not a fully photosourced skin.
My skin reviews often include just a single close-up of the face, but that’s because I’ve tended to get only a single makeup of a new skin to start with. But, the days of me wearing just makeup-free looks are long gone, even if I still always want the option for such a skin, so I expect to be caving into more and more package buying. ;) Do make sure, btw, to click on these images to see the larger versions.
In this case, of course, CJs and Roslins generosity means I can show a wide variety of makeups. I have picked one from each skinline that has made itself at home in my inventory. They are all shown on the Truffle skintone, as with the full-body shots.
From left to right, we have Audacious 1, Bare 3, Exotique 2, Fall in Love 3 and Kit 3. The great variety of makeups we’ve come to expect from Fleur is definitely present in Allure too, and from makeup to makeup the faces show quite a bit of variety in terms of lip shape and cheek shading. If one lip doesn’t quite suit you, try another. There are some really great freckles too, as seen here on Bare 3.
The next four makeups are, again on the Truffle skintone, Kitten 3, Lounge 2, Smokin’ 1 and Smudged 2. The Kitten makeup is a really great cateye, and I expect a lot of 3-packs of this one to sell because all three lip colours are fabulous.
Finally, we will take a look at the other delicious Allure skin tones (I think these are stronger than the Vivant tones, they are so rich and tasty-looking, though Sable may be a little weaker than the others), and at the same time you will be getting a look at the goodies that Ornamental Life will be releasing at noon today.
From left to right, we have Caramel Fall in Love 3 with Antoinette Whirls in Cherry Cake, Sable Audacious 1 with Automne in Maple, Cinnamon Smokin’ 2 with Lyre and Muse in Sound of Silence, Ivory Lounge 3 with Speak to me of Summer in Thief of your Heart and Alabaster Bare 2 with Wave Dancer in Seaweed Bracelet.
Shir Dryke just has the most amazing names for not only her outfits but also her colours. She also makes some really lovely lingerie that is romantic, sassy, whimsical and sexy. Its really quite different from most lingerie I have seen in SL. It is also well-made, with nice texturing and good variety of colours. My favourite (in addition to the lovely corset I showed some days ago) is probably Speak to me of Summer, which is a really interesting (and sexy) design.
Each set comes in five colours and on multiple layers, and though I don’t know what they will be priced at yet, Ornamental Life’s prices are very reasonable and there are also fatpack options. For lingerie, that is always a good bet. ;)
So, why not hop over to Ornamental Life’s satellite boutique, Ornamental Boudoir, to get some new lingerie to slip into (the fashion show at Salina Beach is in full swing as I write this, so the lingerie should be out soon), and then get yourself some new skins to wear under the lingerie tomorrow as Fleur reopens and launches Allure. As an extra incentive, there is a special launch lingerie for free in the Ornamental Boudoir store and there will apparently be a gift at the Fleur launch tomorrow as well.
