Gorgeous, richly patterned fabrics have defined the last few releases from Adam n Eve. First I couldn’t get out of Jura (found in the Boutique), and then I most definitely couldn’t get out of the gorgeous half of a dress called Gratis (also found in the Boutique). And then came Saathi, with an even more extravagant, oriental-inspired fabric.
With such a sumptuous fabric, I would generally be tempted to go for larger, more eye-catching pieces of jewellery. But given the oriental flavour, I just had to make use of the new Jade Longevity pieces from Eolande.

Hair: Clove (retextured) by Calla Calla
Outfit: Saathi Green and Saathi Red by Adam n Eve
Accessories: Jade Longevity Earrings & Necklace, Bangles and Hairpins by Eolande; Babii Pumps Exclusive by Adam n Eve
Most of the Jade Longevity pieces can be seen in this picture; the earrings and the necklace (sold as a set) and the bangles (sold separately. There’s also a set of hair pins that also are sold separately. The jewellery comes in four metals, gold, silver, copper and gunmetal, and is scripted to change the colour of the stones to one of 13 shades of jade as well as onyx. The pieces are very well done, and I find them perfectly suited when I need something a little smaller than most of the other jewellery I have in my inventory. I think it works just as well dressed up and dressed down. Like all of Eolande’s work, the jewellery is very reasonably priced, at between 150 and 100 lindens depending on the piece. I actually ended up buying all of the pieces in all of the metals, because I expect to get a lot of use out of it.
The dress in this picture is Saathi in Green, shown with the micro-mini option that makes up one of the four skirt options.
Here is another of the options available for Saathi (here shown in Red), the short flexi. This picture also shows one of the hair pins of the Jade Longevity set (which now has been switched from green to dark red); I wasn’t able to wear both without tweaking where they attached as they took the slot for my facelight, so I lazily passed on that. ;)
Finally we have the two long skirts for Saathi. The narrow skirt with a train is shown in green and the full skirt is shown in red. In the store, four more equally gorgeous colours can be found, and as always with Adam n Eve items a demo is available so that you can try on all the pieces yourself. You also get all the pieces on several layers, for any mixing and matching that you might like to do.
When you come across clothing in SL that is heavily patterned, it is not uncommon for the patterning to have been used as a substitute for good shading. Either because the creator doesn’t know how to shade, or because they don’t want to interfer with the fabric. Either way, the final look then lacks something. That is not the case with Saathi. The top as well as the skirt are well shaded, which really gives a sense of the sort of fabric this would be. In particular, the creases around the waist add so much realism.
The poses used for these pictures are all from LAP (Long Awkward Pose, but everyone who actually reads this probably knows that).. I don’t tend to credit poses, since I almost always forget to write down which ones I used, but once in a while I will try to remember to at least note who created the fabulous poses that make it possible to take these pictures. And they really don’t get much more fabulous than LAP (though I am also a big fan of Reel Expression and the poses from TorridWear).
I have also neglected to mention in the past that all my poses are neatly stuffed into Tillie’s Posing Stand by Tillie Ariantho. It is compact, easy to use and full of handy features, and includes both a regular posing stand and a stand-alone hud for posing ‘on the fly’. I wouldn’t know what to do without it.
