Anaise, Creole Charm

August has been a very good month for skin releases, at least when it comes to the creators that I am a big fan of. I have already shown a sneak peek of sachi Vixen’s Persephone (for which the first 12 makeups—out of a total of 28—were finally released this weekend), and I hope to be showing more of her soon, but today’s entry is dedicated to the latest skin from Skin Within, Anaise.

Ayesha Bisiani calls Anaise a creole skin, and has given her features and a skintone that suggests a mixed heritage. When I first tried her on, she fit one of my current shapes quite well. However, since that shape is firmly married to Blowpop’s Mellie3 skin, I felt I needed a new shape for Anaise. This actually marks the first time that I have created a shape to fit a skin, though I don’t doubt that Anaise will work well on many existing shapes too. This time around, I am also using the skin with the skintone unmodified, but as all Skin Within skins Anaise can be modified.

Style Notes

Skin: Anaise Kahlua by Skin Within
Hair: Hera Copper (tinted darker) by Curio

What struck me first about Anaise’s body was the gorgeous softness of the shading, which is distinct without making her as toned as some of the other recent skins from Skin Within (most notably, Ahawi and Zarya). To me, it looks like she has a soft but firm body. I also think she looks like she was meant to fit especially well on a somewhat fuller figure. The ribcage is less shaded than on Zarya, for example, and the stomach looks a little rounded to me. The breasts are, as always with Skin Within skins, gorgeously shaded. I really love the large, dark nipples that most of Ayesha’s skins have.

On the whole, I think the front of the body looks great (and Ran thinks it may be the best from Skin Within so far). If one were to pick on anything, the knees may be a touch too highlighted for my tastes, and the highlights on the stomach could be seen as having a bit too much of a sheen if that’s not your thing. But I think it adds to the feel of a soft, pampered skin.

I am, btw, showing the bare option here (though as you can see, there is a bit of pubic hair on it even so), but the skin also comes with a natural pubic hair option.

I see less changes to the back than to the front, at least when taking a quick look at some of my photos of the other skins, but here too the shading has been done in a soft, luxurious way. The level of detail in terms of both the shading and the skin texture is just what I like, and there are nice touches that add realism such as the work at the back of the knees. The butt shading is quite nice, though perhaps a little more shading at the beginning of the “butt cleavage” would have given the illusion of a firmer backside. However, the softness fits in with the rest of the shading.

If you have seen my earlier Skin Within reviews, you may have noticed a certain fondness for the no makeup options of each skin. This time, however, I am showing one of the makeups from the set of evening looks, Kahlua.  As always with Skin Within skins, there are 24 makeups—divided over the day, night, fantasy and smoky categories—and one makeup-free look. The day and night makeups, as well as the makeup-free look, are freckled, whereas the fantasy and smoky makeups are without freckles.

As with the body, I think the face suits a fuller rather than a too sharp-featured face best. But although there’s a softness to it, the eyes lend themselves well to being slightly tilted and/or narrowed (especially given that she has rather sharply arched eyebrows), and the nose shading works well even with a more prominent nose. The lips seem to work from medium thin to quite full.

Overall, I think it is a very pretty face with lots of character, and I do think Ayesha has succeeded in giving her features that suit a mixed heritage.

Anaise sells for L1200$ for a single makeup (which includes the bare and the natural pubic hair option, a copy/mod shape specifically for the skin and a pair of eyes) or L3600$ for a pack of 6 makeups. If you are in the market for a photorealistic skin with a distinctly ethnic look, do check out Anaise or one of her many sisters at the Skin Within sim.
