A Dangerous Dryad

What do you get if you mix a limited edition fantasy makeup from Skin Within with a fae costume from Adam n Eve and some gorgeous accessories from Tekeli-li? A pretty striking result, if I may say so myself, but do read on and see if you agree with me.

Skin: Saba RFL by Skin Within
Hair: Bonita Auburn Blackened by ETD
Outfit: Woodland Black by Adam n Eve; Volar Black by Adam n Eve
Accessories: Dryad by Tekeli-li

First, a good look at the outfit. This is the Woodland Fae costume from Adam n Eve, released a little while ago. The patterning on it definitely has a very woodsy feel to it, with the highlights reminding me of streaks of sunlight filtered through a thick canopy to shine on a moss-covered forest floor. Like most recent releases from Adam n Eve, it comes with a lot of different options (including lots of layer options). Here is the short, ragged-edged skirt worn with stockings, which gives it a very flirty look. There’s also a longer skirt as well as a pair of wings, though I skipped those since I always struggle to get them out from the background we shoot against.

The jewellery is the most recent jewellery release from my new obsession; Tekeli-li. This is the stunning Dryad set, which includes headpiece, necklace, earrings and bracelets. Like all Tekeli-li sets it is colour changeable in multiple sections, allowing for a stunning variety of looks.

I may have mentioned a few times that I really like skins without makeup, because that’s what generally looks best to me when I am trying to do character portraits for fantasy (or historical) settings. However, I must admit that there are some skin creators that are winning me over to the charm of makeups. In particular, makeups that have a fantastical or exotic look to them, which adds a lot of flair to some of the outfits I have collected by now.

The makeup shown here is the Relay for Life makeup for Saba from Skin Within (for a review of the skin, see this post). It is available from Skin Within for as long as the RFL runs and it costs 1000 instead of 1200, the normal price for a Saba single, with all proceeds going to the charity.

The regular Saba skin range does contain six other fantasy makeups which will remain available, and I have considered some of them, but I actually think this may be the most flattering one. The eyeshadow is gorgeous, the vines around the eyes are so pretty and exotic and the lips are really nice as well (even if my preference generally runs towards darker, less pink tones). I have a feeling this one will be staying on for a good while, and not just when I am dressed up as a fae.

Accessories: Devil’s Tongue by Tekeli-li

Finally, my latest acquisition from Tekeli-li, the Devil’s Tongue knife. Now, that’s what I call a knife. ;) As far as fantasy weapons go, Tekeli-li has some really lovely and creative ones that look a lot more plausible and a lot less over-the-top than many of the other offerings within that niche.

Like the Tekeli-li jewellery, the weapons are colour changeable in multiple sections. They also come with sheathed as well as drawn versions and are scripted with sheathe and draw commands. They are not combat scripted, however, but are copy and mod so that such things can be added.

So, there you have it. A pretty dryad with a naughty streak, who you might fancy meeting in the woods. Or not, considering that she does have that wicked-looking knife. I must admit, I am really enjoying the pieces that made up this look, and if I didn’t have an RL job threatening to take up my weekend I would probably spend it doing some fantasy photography. Which I may do anyway. ;) I have these plans for a second blog ...

1. Freyja, the skin looks…

Freyja, the skin looks lovely on you and the accessories and outfit really complete the dryad look. Thanks for the write up. I am certain it’s helped increase sales of the skin and the RFL folks must be thrilled with us :)

Still haven’t taken it off since getting it. But I suppose it might change this week, when your new skin comes out. ;)
