On the Catwalk

After a long period of pulling long hours to get everything together, sachi Vixen and Damen Gorilla have released their new collection of casual clothing, along with a new store build to house much of it. But for the men out there, almost (but not quite all) of the new offerings of particular interest is to be found in the usual Menswear section of the main store. There, you’ll be greeted with about half a dozen different outfits, sold in a number of unique, attractive colors. Below, you’ll find two of the looks discussed.

Skin: Jared t4 from Adam n Eve
Shirt: Silk Shirt red from Adam n Eve
Pants: Du Jour black jeans from Adam n Eve
Shoes: M72 Black from from Adam n Eve

Their new casual collection for men doesn’t have quite the same breadth and variety as what the women have done, but sachi Vixen (and Damen Gorilla, providing sculptie and prim support) have definitely not skimped on the quality. The shirt’s shading for folds and a hint of taut abs really attracts the eye, and as usual sachi has managed to find a very appealing color with that particular shade of red. Someone who knows more about colors than I can probably pin down a particular shade of red, but whatever it’s called, it’s gorgeous.

I long ago intended to do a review of the M72’s, but for now you can see them here in black. These are among the first sculpty shoes Damen has made (and only the second pair of men’s shoes), and these are fabulously priced at L$150 a pair (with a big discount in the fat pack). Low prim count (I believe it’s three prims) and quick-loading sculpt textures make these great for relatively laggy sims, though as usual LL will make sure everyone sees balloons on your feet for the first while while it decides to get the sculpt texture loaded.

A view from the back, and you can see the detailing carrying right on through to the back pocket and the light folds of the pants just under them, and at the knees. One thing not depicted is the fact that there are sculpty prim cuffs and collars available for these shirts, but the shirt also comes in a collarless version.

Outfit Serpent black from Adam n Eve
Shoes: M67 Black from Adam n Eve
Necklace: Dragon’s Tear from Adam n Eve

I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it. The Chinese dragon design, the zipper, and the leather texturing struck me as very eye-catching. The additional details of the sinuous lines along the sleeves may, for some, make it seem too busy, but I think it’s a necessary step to keep it from being an otherwise boring bare black. Also shown are the M67 shoes, truly low priced and quality sculpted shoes at just L$99 apiece—a perfect choice for the discerning gentleman who wants to look good on a budget.

Belt: Chunky belt Black from Adam n Eve

Here’s a twist: a belt that actually looks like a belt, and looks good in the process. This is actually a unisex offering from Adam n Eve, made by Damen Gorilla, and his texturing is just about right. It is sized more towards a female shape, but that said, it just takes a bit of fiddling to get it around my avatar’s waist. Admittedly, my avatars are all rather petite, so your mileage may vary. It comes in quite a lot of other colors, though some I think are more for the fashion models out there (like copper—which is really very pretty, but .... kind of too metallic for my tastes.)

A brief look at the back, so that you can see that the the attention to detail doesn’t stop at the front. The serpent design on the back pockets is a perfect touch, being a design element otherwise seen only on the jacket.

A few more items are in the pipeline for release in the near future, and some of it may well be more men’s clothes. Quality, affordable clothing for men is definitely out there to be found through SL, and Adam n Eve is certainly in those ranks.
